And ... a nice alternative to Banshee: Clementine ... Just discovered that one, and I like it a lot. .. maybe it reminds me some of Foobar too....

Ok, follow these:

sudo su -

mkdir -p /mnt/chroot
mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/chroot
(replace the device acc. to your settings)

mount -o bind /proc /mnt/chroot/proc
mount -o bind /dev /mnt/chroot/dev


chroot /mnt/chroot

then, call update-grub

Not sure what you mean by "fastest"... Do you mean fastest at managing a huge music library ? At the moment I'm using mdp, and configured it for minimal cpu overhead (less than 0.5% cpu usage on an old athlon xp). But it's not really designed for managing the music, just playing it. I mis...

I've been in the same situation lately, when installing Mint for a friend. I took out the HDD and placed it into another computer, where I succeed with the installation, then I returned the HDD back. Pay attention when you choose where to install the bootloader in case, you left the another's PC HDD...
