Re: Mint 11 - xxx "is already running" problem

Solved :) - but it was something that I had to do extra with Katya as opposed to Julia. :!: Logged into my user account (the one set up during the installation QA) and from there modified this account to be an administrator. Then I added a non-admin account. Both these work just great :D HTH anyone ...

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

OK - thanks for that and I more or less understand it. My particular issue is that I am using a netbook with no CD or DVD drive so I have to download to another system, burn the iso and then "borrow" the drive. No great problem though! You could install Mint onto a USB drive with USB Star...

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

I am a complete newbie so have much to learn but so far most things are excellent. :) My main complaint (If that is the word) is that, when I upgraded 8 to 9, I had to to a clean install after preserving several features and files first. Surely an upgrade should just replace what has changed and add...

Re: Newbie advice for backup/recovery/rescue etc

Actually, after some research and advice from a friend, I ended up with partimage (part of SystemRescueCD) and, so far, it does what I need. :)
