Am trying to use my HP Pavillion D5 to stream via HDMI to my Toshiba 32a500 32". I've been trying to duplicate displays and it almost works. The install of Mint went 100% and it detected the 1280x800 resolution perfectly. However when I try to duplicate this to the TV, the resolution changes to...

Hey, thanks so much! It was the BIOS setting that allows Mint 17.1 to see 4GB RAM.

Installing on older non-PAE
I have a circa 2009 HP notebook. I know before whenever I would install it would only show 3GB RAM and not the 4GB that's actually installed. Somehow this has to do with this business of PAE. If I install Mint 17 Mate, would it recognize the full RAM, or do I need to do something at the install stag...

It's funny to read how everyone thinks Debian is without fault. It might be interesting to see what would happen if Ubuntu just failed to exist tomorrow.
