Re: Webcam chat in Linux Mint?

Gyachi and Kopete both support yahoo webcam (Kopete does MSN also). Gyachi is strictly a Yahoo client, but it supports almost all yahoo features (Voice, Webcam, Audibles).

Gyachoo! Messenger

I stumbled across this and thought it my be a good idea to bring to the Mint community, maybe for the software portal. It's a fork of Gyachi, but with a GREATLY improved interface. I always hated the UI in Gyachi, so i do not use it. I installed the .deb for Gyachoo, and it's really nice. Could be a...

Click n' Run

Has anyone tried the Linspire CLick N Run beta yet? I checked out the site and it seems like this could be a pretty big deal for the linux community in general, wondering what everyone's thoughts were about it.

Re: 7days, No Luck, No Mint...

I experienced the same problem, which I didn't have running Cassandra or Celena, and tried everything i could think of. After digging and digging I finally found a solution to my problem.... it ended up being a monitor detection problem (refresh rate was set too high) and it occurred in standard and...

Re: This is getting annoying Help Please! Everything Lost!

Put your XP cd in, and go through the steps to boot into a "Recovery Console", which is basically an ms-dos prompt.

type:
fixmbr

Windows should reset your master boot record and assuming you didn't partition or format anything, you should be good to go

Re: Daryna install fails on older Latitude Laptop

Same problem for me... try the XFCE edition. it should install fine, I believe it is a problem with Gparted running out of ram. If you don't have more than 256mb it can give you problems. I could not get standard mint to install, but XFCE worked fine (And runs well also) give it a shot

Blank screen still

Well, no matter what i try the CD is still giving me a blank screen when starting X. After researching as much as possible it seems to be a problem with my old motherboard and initramfs. it seems that since my board does not have Sata support it throws the hardware detection all out of whack. the fe...

Live CD problems

I seem to have the same bug as many in the gutsy community... my live CD gets the black screen. I have tried EVERYTHING i can find on the subject, and still nothing. All the unusual hardware problems with this release(Gutsy) seem to go back to the kernel. any plans to move Daryna to a newer(or older...

Disk Space

How about a simple pop up message to tell you when you are out of disk space? I've had it happen a couple times when I boot I could not log in because the disk was full, and booting into recovery mode just to delete a few files is a real pain.... or even a prompt to empty the trash would be cool.

Where did you get 2.2.0?
I don't remember where, I found a .deb somewhere. That was the last thing I wanted to have on linux (Myspace IM support) so i jumped the gun a little. Sadly I noticed today that the pidgin website recommends upgrading from 2.2.0 immediatley. I have to get to that. lol

I had/have a problem like that on mine when I try to boot up. Pidgin of all things (2.2.0) opens, and then continues to suck the life out of all my available memory and lock my system unless I kill it with the Process Manager... re-start it and then it's fine. It has puzzled me, but I think it's a p...

Myspace

Coming to this forum with the all-too-familiar story, I have been trying for YEARS to find a usable Linux distro to replace my microsoft products. Cassandra XFCE did it, and I am super excited. We know the worst part about Linux is the lack of commercial support and advertising, getting the word out...
