Re: Caja text changes to light gray
just a quick addition. This happens in version 17.3 also. I have found with mints own pre-installed themes everything is fine but modify them or use your own and this happens. Ie: customize a theme or use your own. Then open caja and change from icon view to something else and all is ok. change back...

Seems i wasn't imagining it;
https://launchpad.net/debian/+source/cups/+changelog.
looks like they fixed a security hole. Then have to keep fixing the things they break in the process.
sound familiar.. windoze.
Back to version 12.04 - mint13.

I would like to stick with mint16 as it just works. If i could go back in time i would use isadora with lates...

Re: Linux mint 17 printer server settings permissions proble
just thought i would update my findings. It seems linux mint, all versions of release 14.04 or whatever the latest is. work fine after install apart from synaptic. Which is still unusable to downgrade packages or even update. Apparently by design. Ubuntu mate and other versions of desktops are fine ...

Re: Qiana: Cannot update mesa packages force uninstall cinna
This is also messed up in mate distro too. tried both. I cannot use previous versions of applixcations in synaptic anymore as it will NOT allow downgrade. Totally stupid idea. They really have messed this up. If it works why change it. We seem to be heading down the windoze path. Freedome of choice ...

Re: Locked out of new linux mint 17 installation!
I had the same thing happen a few times then realised that the login setup has either been changed ,designed differently or a bug introduced. Not really quite sure. Anyhow, When you next install DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THE TOP FIELD. Leave it blank. The second fileld is the network name and the last ...

Re: Linux mint 17 printer server settings permissions proble
There is no way of telling in linux mint 17 as the installer discloses nothing. I definately think something in the background is going wrong. Tried it on a laptop and same thing happens. What with all the other bugs i keep finding. I think i am gonna stick with linux mint 16 and hold off till they ...

Re: Linux mint 17 printer server settings permissions proble
Instead of using ALL the partition options inbuilt in the installer that comes with Mint 17. I am using the gparted from mint 16 for the most part. Firstly i setup an NTFS partition for windoze then one EXT4 for linux and a Swap file. I did this with gparted on mint 17 initially. I setup windoze on ...

Re: Linux mint 17 printer server settings permissions proble
