no external ports working adter upgrade to 20

two weeks ago I tried to upgrade to 20 with the, then, very hard to follow, instructions on this site. It failed and I had no backup. Lucky for me I had an ISO file on a CD and was able to restore the 19.3 version without loosing any data. But the LAN connection was lost! I fixed that by going to Wi...

Re: Text size before boot and Boot menu maintenance

That worked PERFECTLY.....but it took me over half an hour to pick my way thru the operation of that editor!! It isnt even close to being intuitive. Is there a place where I can find a guide to the commands for it?

Re: [SOLVED] Brave-browser

It seems that the process wasnt complete and just hitting "return" finished the installation but there was no text to indicate an additional input. A fault of the installer.

Re: [SOLVED} How do Themes work.

That explains it. I was expecting more than I should. Now I see how it works, what I saw was reasonable.

[SOLVED] Text size before boot and Boot menu maintenance

I am 83 so spend a lot of my time trying to enlarge the text and eliminate superfluous stuff so I can read what is really necessary. The text on my "boot menu", the list of the various OS that are available, is so small I cant read it on a 16" monitor and I havent the foggiest idea wh...

"add to panel"
"add to desktop"

SOLVED wireless does not show in the Network connections menu. Only Wired is shown

SOLVED. There was apparently something wrong with the USB modem, even though the computer could find it, because I now have another one plugged in and it is working fine and it restored the WiFi option to the menu. I have both the wired and WiFi option working now. Thanks everyone.

[SOLVED] Start Menu resize

Is there a way to increase the size of the menu that pops up when you click on "menu" The font is too small for me to read easily. Or maybe just resizing the font. I have tried every place that offers font modification and cant find one that affects that font so maybe just making the menu ...

Re: Slow down the boot?

Just in case anyone is following this, pressing the Del key AFTER the first message appears on the screen not BEFORE,during boot will put you into the CMOS setting menu

Re: Slow down the boot?

The board is an American Megatrends. Found that out buy holding the Tab key while booting and immediately hitting the PB key before it disappeared. In that message it suggested hitting the DEL key to reset but hat only releases the hold and it goes merrily on as does hitting the F12 key which it als...

Re: Slow down the boot?

Maybe I am asking the wrong question. There are at least three text messages that appear on screen during boot, Two of them suggest a <cntl> plus a number that I can press to alter the boot. They do not stay on screen long enough for me to read them so I dont know whether to press the suggested keys...

Re: Slow down the boot?

Well, the reason I want to slow down boot is because at least one of the messages and maybe two are offering me keys to press to alter the boot path. Seeing them after the fact is of no use to me. I want to see what they are offering and maybe I want to follow a different path.

Slow down the boot?

During boot there are several messages flashing across the screen. Too fast to read them. Is there a way to slow or stop the boot so I can read, what might be important? Mint 19.2
