[Solved] Re: Which download source to use?
Thank you both and the rest of you. I downloaded the .iso, as I said, and someone below said that the cmd-line output I posted said that they both were good. So, I'm satisfied with that. I did download them from the Mint site. Next is installation. I had a hangup there, too. Mint's instructions for ...

Re: Which download source to use?
Whew, all this is beyond me. I'm not interested in pursuing all these technicalities; I don't understand them and don't want to. I'm old and just want to know how to install Mint and have it work. But I'll leave this post open if others want to address these issues.

Re: Which download source to use?
I couldn't tell that. Thanks. I'll proceed to use the last one (I'd already renamed the first one to separate it).

[SOLVED] Which download source to use?
I'm trying to download 21.2 Cinnamon and following the verification instructions. I've downloaded the .iso from James Madison university and from the University of Pittsburg. Both times the sha256sums check, and the authenticity of the sha256sum.txt and sha256sum.txt.gpg checked as good. But also bo...

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
Sorry for the long delay in responding. I just discovered this email notice. It's late in the day now. I'll do that tomorrow morning. Thanks for the direction. Well, here I've gone with another much longer delay. But here is that info.: System: Kernel: 5.4.0-135-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc...

That's what I did--or thought I did. I changed the Subject line in the original post. I'll try again.

[Solved] Re: Where does Mint store its Stcky notes' data/content/information?
The Notes program I'm talking about is the default one in Mint 20.3, my version. I've exported the notes, I assume, using the program's export feature, but I don't have a way to know what that contains until I install Mint 20.3's Notes program in my Kubuntu (requires a ppa). Btw, since I couldn't fi...

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
I sure hope someone can solve this problem. I just got the upgrade availability notice and would love to upgrade, but its instructions said to be sure the current OS is up to date. I'd hoped that upgrading would solve the problem. Alas, no. Is there such a thing as a files troubleshooting program?

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
Thank you again. It did, but I still get that message when I try to run the updates. I know you expected that, as I did.

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
Whoa! That added a new problem. After running your commands, I tried to refresh the update list before installing them. But the update manager froze after about 5-10 seconds. I closed the U.M., then reopened it. Tried again; same result. I hope unholding that file will return the U.M. to working. Bt...

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
Perhaps, but I took it that way because of its saying "0 broken." Still, the update manager still wouldn't update. Same message: "Could not apply changes! Fix broken packages first."

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
I hadn't but did just now. It said "Successfully fixed dependency problems." And, in its normal, default display, it says at the bottom: "83401 packages listed, 2772 installed, 0 broken, 0 to install/upgrade, 0 to remove". So, this doesn't look fruitful. Thanks for the thought an...

Re: Can't update Mint 20.
Thank you so much. I can't believe you stayed up so late to hang in there with me. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I have another problem that I was going to post after this one was corrected and the system updated and, I hoped, upgraded. It is that I can't synchronize Brave. It says "Brave cou...

No output. After clicking Enter, it produced another command prompt.
