Hi OS Stuntman Those images are .png files located in the /~/.local/share/icons folder. after creating your launchers and pointing them to the correct .exe to start the application, click the launcher icon thing and navigate to the path above to select the winword.png, powerpnt.png and so forth hope...

after playing with the panel for a little while yesterday, i noticed that the notification areas that I was attempting to add... did in fact add to the panel, but i could not see them as they were the same color as the panel. I did have it... i believe yesterday... but with the holidays I dont exactly remember. I just noticed today that the mintUpdate icon is gone. Google results indicated that I needed to add the Notification Area to the panel. That failed and i pursued the forums.

And if you create another panel, e.g. at the top, can you add to it the notification area? Linuxviolin... no, added a new panel and right click > add to panel > Notification Area > Add, seems to do nothing... I can add other items to the panel such as the menu, launchers, eyeballs, just not the not...

Tried killing the panel and adding the notification area still does not add... I dont have access to my MintUpdate now... just want to get that back on the panel

Running Julia. somehow my notification area is missing from the panel. Tried to add using right click>add to panel>notification area, however the notification area does not add to the panel.

Operating Systems are a hobby. Yeah, for me too. I start running out of things to tweak and play with on Mint 10 and LMDE, so I start downloading/installing distros that sound interesting.
