Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
There's the What's New section From the new features list: The KDE edition of Linux Mint now uses the KDE Network Manager , as opposed to the Gnome Network Manager used in previous releases. What's up with this faggotry? I clearly remember posting here some time ago already (in the "ide...

Re: 64bit Isadora KDE CE final release?
Still no news about when a 64-bit version will come out...
It's sad that also here, 64-bit users are treated as undesired pariah
A shame, really.

Re: Ideas for Isadora KDE
EDIT: Additionally, what is the utility used to connect to internet on KMint? On Ubuntu and Mint it is the network manager applet - which I use - and it has config for wired, wi-fi, mobile broadband. Most of the settings are pretty much pre-configured and work out of box. Dsl setup works fine with ...

Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
But I'm really going to try taking Mint 9 and just installing KDE from the repos (or even from the KDE site) and enjoy it that way and I'll just do that from now on I think. I'd strongly advise to avoid doing that. I tried installing Kde on top of Mint 9 and it pretty much ended up in a catastrophe...

Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
There will only be a 32bit RC of mint kde. But there will be a final 32 and 64bit mint kde. There are not enough differences between 32 and 64 bit variants to make an RC for both. Stupid decision - you should've rather made a 64-bit only RC and for the final, a 32-bit version as well. I'll say Mint...

:o I take it that vincent and BubbaBlues were responding to a post that has been moderated away? Otherwise I'm going to start feeling paranoid... Yes, having replies standing in thin air is very odd  It would've been more helpful if there was a comment that a post was deleted because of foul...

Re: How I'm Already Running Mint 9 KDE x64
Since I was getting fed up with waiting as well, I also tried this on Wednesday  The only things I removed were 'mintwelcome' (useless anyway) and 'mintupdate' (to get a properly working synaptic with "mark all updates" entry). After removing 'mintupdate' and reinstalling synaptic...

Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
So i gave fedora 13 64 bit kde spin a go on my desktop. 3.0ghz dual core 4 gigs ram and a 8800GT It ran slow...Like, windows 7 was faster than it...It was just terrible. and there is no GUI for their package manager. I download unetbooting, and made a flash of LM9 and I have it up and running now o...

Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
KDE is at version 4.4.3 but it is from the kubuntu ppa repo. I would like to release the final when 4.4.3 is in the ubuntu updates repo, hopefully that is not too far away. The next version of Kde 4.4.4 is coming out in two days already, next Tuesday, June 1st: http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE...

Yes, and this thick-headed insistence on vintage 32-bit instantly disqualifies them for metonyric wrote:Except, they are still 100% 32bit.

They seem to have a fetish for antiquities, anyway... it took them ages to drop that vintage Kde 3.5

Re: 64bit Isadora KDE CE final release?
Isn't the "Community Edition" naming scheme being scrapped ? :? (http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=1377) Indeed, it says so: Community Editions: No more references will be made to “CE”s. These editions will now become official and efforts will be made for them to be released as early in th...

Re: Ubuntu One???
My only requirements is that NO mono disease is included , or any programs/software that would require that infection. And that WINE not be included by default as the win virus API is nothing but a security risk in the making. I also wouldn't want to have any Java disease installed by default, on t...

Re: Isadora KDE Development Progress Report
Now that the final version of Mint 9 has been released, any updates on when the Kde64 version will come?
With Mint 8, it took over two months after the final release. I hope it won't take that long this time.

My suggestions: SMPlayer as default video player (it have very good subtitles support) Agreed, SMplayer is great 8) KNetworkManager is better solution than (GNOME) NetworkManager Certainly not. Dsl support in KNetworkManager is badly broken :x NetworkManager (nm-applet) "just works" :mrgr...
