Tabs first and foremost. Dual panes, sushi previews or preferably Gloobus Preview. These are things I would hate to live without.

Re: Gnome fallback panels duplicate every widget

This happens to me. But I'm using dual monitors with different resolutions and separate xsessions.

Re: Window decorations changes at login

Sorry it's window decorations. I sort of solved it but saving the session. I'm going to mark as solved, but I still would like to know why it was happening in the first place.

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

My only complaint is that UP5 is taking 3 times longer to update than it would to install and configure a fresh copy of Mint. This isn't counting the download time.

Re: bash

From the site. " To run this file you need to make it executable, or enter “sh eagle-lin-6.2.0.run” in a shell window."

So basically.
Right click the file, click properties and tick the executable box. Now you should be able to click and run it.

[Solved/sort of] Window decorations changes at login

I'm using the Cinnamon build of Mint 13. The Xfce version didn't recognize my Logitech unifying keyboard and mouse, so that was DOA. Anyway.. I removed Cinnamon and installed Xfce4 from the xubuntu ppa. Every time I restart my box, Xfce defaults to this weird theme. When I go into settings, it says ...

Can we stop referring to it as a rolling release ? There wasn't many updates before the freeze.

Re: Mate or Cinnamon?

I like cinnamon. But miss having the control over my windows that compiz gave me. With gnome3 and cinnamon, I can't choose what Apps launch without decorations, skip taskbar, launch in full screen etc etc. I also hate that icons in the panel don't flash when they need attention. I'm glad cinnamon is...

Nautilus / Xfce drag and drop bug?

I'm running LMDE / Xfce and Nautilus as my file manger. Nautilus is set not to handle my desktop. When I'm moving files around between tabs or between breadcrumbs or dragging and dropping from the archive manager, as soon as I release the mouse button over the folder Nautilus freezes, with the curso...

I just noticed this also. I'll have to see if Avant Window Navigator's icon bounce when they need attention. This is a show stopper bug, at least for me.

People swear by FireFtp, but I stick with Filezilla. I also like CrossFTP for FXP stuff. FlashFXP is on my short list of window programs I miss.

Re: quick xbindkeys question

That's pretty lame. Even my cheap Asus eee-pc 900 uses Fn-(up, down, left, and right) for pgup, pgdn, home, and end, without having to do anything special. Using the combination of Fn and other keys gives everything available on a full-size keyboard, albeit less convenient, but there just isn't roo...

quick xbindkeys question

I received an HP Mini for Christmas. But it lacks PageUp, PageDown, Home and End keys. My question is, am I on the right track by choosing xbindkeys for mapping the missing keys to other key combinations. HP's website offers an AutoHotkey script for Windows users to replace the missing functionality...

Re: MintMenu memory

Hi, I'm just curios, is mintmenu process freeing memory? After several changes of desktop theme I noticed that the process is allocating more and more memory with each change. (I'm talking about Mint 10 RC, I tested also version 9 and the behavior was same). I noticed this also. One time I looked a...

[Solved] Garbled text when scrolling

I took the plunge last night and installed LMDE. Everything is going smoothly except when I enable Compiz text seems to get 'garbled, bunched together' almost like the screen isn't refreshing fast enough. So far it seems to only happen in Synaptic. I tried searching but not knowing the name of this ...
