Re: Add the install CD as a repository

I need to add Mint 9 KDE installation disk as repository (because I need to install linux-headers 2.6.32-23 to compile a NIC driver from source before I can start using the NIC). I cannot use Mint 10, 11 or Kubuntu 11.04 for reasons too long to delve into. In Software Manager / Software Sources, it ...

Re: nVidia proprietary driver freeze

I fixed this by replacing old nVidia 6200LE with a new nVidia 430. The old nVidia is no longer supported by the proprietary driver. It worked but it kept freezing. With the new videcard, no freezes for a month now.

nVidia proprietary driver freeze

Ever since moving from Kubuntu 8.04 (32-bit) to Linux Mint 10.04 frequent freezes hassle my PC. The problem is exactly as described in the initial post at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1479594 except my video card is GeForce 6200 LE. While proprietary driver 195.x or 260.x is used, this p...

[SOLVED] cannot upload photos to Facebook

Ivan Stenda in Czech Linux forum knew the right solution. "sudo ifconfig eth0 mtu 1000" to set the MTU to 1000. Facebook does not like my standard MTU 1500. This completely fixed the issue. The unproven theory is that my provider is unable to carry full ethernet packets, sends them fragmented... and...

Re: cannot upload photos to Facebook

Do the file sizes you are trying to upload exceed facebook's size limit? Check to see is they have an html uploader. I use the one with Zenfolio with no problems. The files I try to upload do not exceed any limit. They are 200-300 kB. Thank you for relating that Zenfolio HTML uploader works. I can ...

Thanks for confirmation that it works for you. I feel like a fool but it really does not work. I have vanilla Mint 9 KDE on two different computers. It does not work, both fail as described above. Anyone got any tips please?

ronandiver, I think you overlooked that Vincent could help you because you posted the directory contents using commands that I told you to use. Basicaly, I told you to run the correct "cd" and "ls", you did it, and before I could help you further, Vincent did. But I do not worry about that. I am ver...
