Re: Is it just me or is KDE not as snappy as GNOME?

I did that, it does make things a bit better, but it's still meh. Weird, I was just running OpenSUSE 11.3 in VBox and it feels like it's a lot snappier in OpenSUSE. Is this even possible? I mean, both Mint and OpenSUSE use KDE 4.6

Mint 9 showing "Starting file manager" when changing theme

Isadora RC So, if I try to change the theme, or the wallpaper, the bottom panel starts filling up with "Starting File Manager" (ie nautilus) and it fills up endlessly. I have to switch to tty1 and do sudo killall nautilus for it to stop, but the theme/wallpaper hasn't changed. Right now th...

Re: Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" RC released!

Very nice. I used Mint 7 back in the time once, for like 15 minutes (just as a live CD). I remember liking it, but stuck with Debian and Ubuntu at that time. The Ubuntu 10.04 started really pissing me off, and Canoncial started acting like a true corporation. Even the RC version of Mint 9 is much mo...
