Moving External Partition to Internal Partition Using Disks GUI

Newb here, with yet another question. I have an old drive that I'm trying to add to my desktop. I had it hooked up and mounted just fine through an external USB port but when I moved it to the inside of the case I got this: disks.png The partition already has files on it so I don't want to format it...

Re: No idea how but lost access to Documents folder?

The only system related thing I've done is edit the smb.conf file. I'm not so concerned with the contents of the lost folder; just getting the folder back for future use. I assume I can just create a new folder with the same name? And I have not created the "backup" function yet.

Re: No idea how but lost access to Documents folder?

I did the search and also checked my Trash. It's nowhere to be found. Very strange indeed. It keeps showing up, even after a reboot but there's no accessing it at all. Thanks for the advice. Where does it "show up"? It shows up on the left side of my file manager with the little warning s...

Re: No idea how but lost access to Documents folder?

documents folder issue.png To add to what @karlchen has suggested, also check for hidden files and a hidden, renamed directory. If after all that, including what @karlchen advised, restore your important documents from your most recent backup. How do I check for hidden files or a renamed directory?

Re: No idea how but lost access to Documents folder?

Hello, celloyd. Your screenshot seems to confirm that the directory Documents is no longer present in your home directory /home/garage . Click on the looking glass icon fa-search and instruct Nemo to look for Documents inside your whole home directory. Maybe you have moved Documents to a different ...

I hope it's okay to piggyback on this
For the future, please don't do that. On this forum, the policy is: a new question deserves a new thread. Thanks for keeping that in mind!
My apologies!! I will refrain next time.

Re: Accessing Devices

There is no "Devlices" directory , it is just a heading in the file manager. As I said the external devices you plug in will mount in /media/you where you is the user account you login with. If I plug in a usb stick with a single partition on it with the label USB_Stick it mounts in /medi...

Desktop Sharing - Where did it go?

Can anyone confirm that desktop sharing was removed in the latest version of Mint? And if so, are there any alternatives to it? I have switched multiple machines in my home to Mint and would like to have remote desktop sharing between machines on my local network. Used to be a button on the menu for...

start menu gone??

My PC froze up, I re-booted and now the start menu will not show up. I was getting an error message but now I cannot reproduce that because I did a re-boot in recovery mode and it no longer shows up...this transition to Linux has been painful. I know, you get what you pay for. :D
