Re: Whisker menu often slow to render
I'm using 1.4.0 on Debian, so it's not just a post 1.3.0 issue, minor in the scheme of things but it does mess with the perception of snappiness normally associated with running Xfce.

Whisker menu often slow to render
I normally use Debian Wheezy which instantaneously displays the contents of the whisker menu. Just experimenting with Mint 17 XFCE and I'm finding there's often a wait with a spinning progress indicator where the menu content would be. Any suggestions on what to look for that could be slowing it down?

Re: Windows 7 running noticeably quicker.
Hey guys/gals just wanted to share something with you that I found pretty interesting. I installed Linux Mint 12 successfully (it's awesome) and I'm dual booting with Windows 7 as well. I monitor and maintain religiously to keep it running quickly. If my PC runs even a second too slow, say I have a...

Re: Best backup imaging software for mint 12?
The Arch wiki usually has good info, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Backup_Programs - for me backing up /home is generally all I want. I don't mind reinstalling the OS if need be.

Re: LMDE installer just not up to it at all.
...Therefore / goes on one, along with a storage partition for some files I use with all install and /home goes on the other. This installer, unless I was just too groggy to see it, is incapable of handling that... I haven't done an install from the current spin, but on the previous one I installed...

Re: Using Ubuntu font rendering as per LMDE in Squeeze
OK, I've added the "import" repository and have libcairo2 1.10.0-1ubuntu2 installed, already had the ubuntu font installed. Copied over /etc/fonts from an LMDE system and things seem to be looking good so far.

Using Ubuntu font rendering as per LMDE in Squeeze
Just wanted to check if it's possible to use the alternative files that have brought Ubuntu's font rendering to LMDE in a way that would stay up to date without manual intervention (as http://lovingthepenguin.blogspot.com/20 ... ueeze.html requires)?

The differing 'n's
I find the differing 'n's in the logo quite distracting. I'd be interested to know if there any posts where the reasoning behind this was discussed?

Re: Menu getting stuck sometimes
Just another voice, fresh install of Isadora x86 DVD and the menu has a habit of jamming open. Sometimes can be cleared by clicking on the app that was launched from it in the background but usually have to click the menu button again.

Extra slash in smb link
Just installed Mint 9 from the x86 DVD and noticed that I can browse the windows network as far as listing available workgroups in Nautilus but not further (server list unavailable message). There was no problem installing a printer on a Windows share and if I Ctrl+L in Nautilus and wipe out the thi...
