Merci. I'll give it a try, but I don't understand much of what you've told me to do. Thanks anyway.

Home Network.

Hello all. I'm trying to set up a home network between three Linux Mint machines, & possibly a Windows 10 one. I am completely lost (noob). It seems to be very complicated, unless I'm missing something. I have installed Samba on all computers. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. :)

Re: Black screen on startup

There are some sounds from time to time. I think that it's a hardware problem. I've taken it to the Doctor! Thanks for the ideas.

Hello again. I'm still having no luck with FlickrTouchr. It used to work wonderfully. Can anyone recommend a way in which I can back up my Flickr photos? Thanks.

Can't change themes or icons.

Hi. I've just come back to LinuxMint XFCE after a failed attempt at using Ubuntu (lags too much on my old desktop). Everything is running smoothly except that I can't change the themes or icons under Appearance. Nothing happens. Could somebody please point me in the right direction? The icon themes ...

[SOLVED] Not shutting down.

Easily solved. I just added the log out/shutdown button to the taskbar and voila! I no longer need to use a terminal to shutdown. It just seems strange that it would always hang when trying to logout or shutdown from the menu though.

Consider this solved.

Re: Not shutting down.

Thanks for the replies. I'm currently using sudo shutdown now which is working, despite being a bit of a pain. Hopefully some bug fix or something will help. Cheers.
