Re: installing Chromium or Google Chrome

You can also use the Launchpad Chromium Beta PPA for Lucid which works perfectly with LMDE (add to /etc/apt/sources.list):

Code: Select all

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/beta/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/beta/ubuntu lucid main

Re: LM Popularity Boom

Judging by the comments at some of the other Linux forums, LMDE is a big event in the Linux world. (I tried to mention it at the PCLinuxOS forums, but my post was deleted. "We don't discuss other distros." Bleh.) Those guys are turds anyway. Never have I encountered a worse community....far differe...

Re: Trying to get linux mint features on existing Debian

How about trying an install of LMDE instead :?: I don't believe trying to port over the Mint apps like that is going to be easy nor supported for sometime.

Not sure why you would want to do what you did, but you can report bugs here for now:

Re: file system

Finally I installed on ext3 fs, but please, does anyone have any idea how to set up a reiserfs system? My God, man! Why would anyone want to use reiserfs in 2010??? Reiserfs is no longer under development due to it's creator being imprisoned for first-degree murder and has been surpassed in capabil...

Not quite the same integration with nautilus but works just as effectively :)
Good deal, thanks omns. Had no idea it was in the repos.

Re: LMDE and Dropbox

From what I see on the Dropbox website, it seems you downloaded the Ubuntu .deb correct? The Ubuntu .deb is not compatible with Debian, you need to install from source. Yeah, I was hoping to avoid that as it is quite behind in development version. I was hoping somebody knew of a recent DEB package ...

Re: LMDE and Dropbox

Are you getting Dropbox from the repos? an external deb? from source? I am getting the latest .deb download from the Dropbox website. As it is specifically packaged for Ubuntu, I imagine the version of libnautilus-extension1 is was expecting is older than what is available in Debian Testing. Just w...

LMDE and Dropbox

Anybody get Dropbox to play nicely with LMDE?

I get "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libnautilus-extension1 (>= 1:2.22.2)".

Anybody find a workaround?

Alternative Dropbox install on Linux Mint LXDE

If you are having problems installing Dropbox, try using this script:

https://www.dropbox.com/download?dl=packages/dropbox.py

Open a terminal and run:

python dropbox.py start --install

No Nautilus dependencies are installed and it works great.

What a waste of forum space this thread is. DasFox is simply a flamebaiter out for some perverted form of entertainment.
