Re: problem with ati graphic card Linux Mint 12

I have the same problem with Mint 12, but the ATI drivers work perfectly with Mint 11.

Is this a Gnome 3 issue?

Not the end of the world, the default driver seems to do a good job.

Re: Linux Mint 12, and beyond?

Another "Other" vote. Stick with Debian, but appropriate the best of Ubuntu - especially maintaining compatibility with Ubuntu repos.

Mint contributors, you should be in the running for the Nobel.

Re: Netbook questions

Nobody's mentioned the obvious: I bought a big fat extra battery for my HP Mini and stopped worrying about power saving. Bright screen, nothing disabled, Mint 10 RS, 10 hours plus of life.

Luxury.

Linux Mint 10 RC - Wow!

I've been dipping my toe into Linux for years. I managed to work with Ubuntu 8.04 for 6 months before giving up and going back to Windows 7. There always seemed to be a deal-breaker. A month ago Windows 7 infuriated me almost as much as Vista had so I went back for another go at Ubuntu. It was OK bu...

Re: How to show Recent Documents?

Hello again. Just try this: Press Alt + F1 This should bring you a little menu. Search there for Places > Recent Documents You also have the option to add this menu in your panel: right click on the panel, select Add to panel > Main Menu That's great. Thanks asymmetros. Re: How to show Recent Documents?

.... you can add in to your panel the main gnome menu. From there, under submenu Places you ll find "Recent Documents"... I'd already tried that but although Places is on the Main Menu, it isn't listed in the Main Menu layout window. Maybe a Mint 10 oddity/bug? I'm a Mint newbie, maybe I'...

Thank you asymmetros. It's not a pretty result, but it works.

How to show Recent Documents in Mint 10 RC? <Resolved>

I'm using Mint 10 RC. It's fabulous. But I can't figure out how to activate a Recent Documents link in the Menu. It's not listed under Places and I can't find a way to add it.

Any ideas?

Yet another newbie

Thanks for having me. I've been trying to switch to 100% Linux for several years but there have always been deal-breakers. Thanks to Linux Mint I've finally managed it. I have a lot to learn after 20 years of Windows but I'm on the way. Mint 10 RC is fabulous: elegant, beautiful, fast, reliable and ...
