Re: Python 3.2.3

Mint 13 has Python 2 by default but Python 3 is installable. To install Python 3 run: sudo apt-get install python3 To run Python 3 run python3 Current Python 3 version in Mint 13 is 3.2.3. Thank you. That solved it for me. :D Yeah, the output leopold@leopold-Latitude-E4300 ~ $ python3 Python 3.2.3 ...

Re: A POST issue after update

@ palo, just a reboot is suuch a Microsoft way of solving problems, if you may excuse my sense of humor. :) Yeah, I got some more. I rebooted and went into the BIOS to check settings. Love fiddling with BIOS. It can be so fun. OK, so I turn it of. Look into the BIOS and set the settings to...

Re: How to take screenshots in Mint13 Cinnamon? PrtSc notwor

I would like to suggest the software Shutter (http://shutter-project.org/). It's free of charge and gives you a whole lot of options when taking screenshots of your desktop.

Re: Installed Cinnamon on Mint 13 Mate edition, now blue scr

Hello and welcome to the Linux Mint forum! Based on your description of the problem, I would do this. Step 1. Shutdown the computer. Attach an Ethernet cable. Step 2. Make sure that the power cord and the Ethernet is in, then boot. When seeing the OEM-flash, like Sony or Asus + the BIOS option like ...

Re: Google Chrome and Linux Mint 12 (Lisa)

Thanks for this thread! It solved the issue I have with Google Chrome when moving from Windows 7 to Linux Mint. This is how I got it to work: 1. Download Google Chrome. 2. Try to install. Error. Google and find this thread. 3. Extracted the files. Right-clicked the Debian folder and opened...

Re: Missing the start menu Linux Mint 12 Lisa

The screenshot you gave is of the "gnome fallback mode". This happens because either the graphics card on that specific computer doesn't support 3D rendering, or there are drivers that you need to install to get it to work. You need to check if you have any drivers you can install (by launching the...

I don't have Mint installed here, but I can tell you how I did this for Nautilus in Fedora 16, hope it helps: $ gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences always-use-location-entry true The code in terminal: gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences always-use-location-entry true worked beauti...

[solved] View the path in nautilus

In Linux Mint it's called Nautilus. I wish to copy the path for a folder and then use that information in Termin...

Re: Printer drivers

:) Hello ejw247 and welcome to Linux Mint world, Strange. Mostly it is plug and play for printers. Well, mostly you do not need to download anything; you start you computer, log on, start your printer, plug it in and when ask, you search for the driver in the menu. Re: Sound problem with an HP DC5100MT

Hi Leopold! Reaching this point I don't have further ideas - as a normal Mint user. I can explain how to check md5sum: The download page shows the md5sum; if you burn an image with K3B (the best burning program I know - it works with Gnome and KDE) K3B is generating that sum! In a Linux Terminal, i...

Re: A simple program for merge pictures

You could try ImageMagick, might already be installed otherwise it is in the repo. It is command line but in this case not difficult. For joining 2 images side by side. Images do not have to be same format or size. (make sure you are in the same folder as the images or move the images to say, home)...
