All releases of Mint are LTS. They are supported for five years.
Yeah I went to the All Downloads page to poke around a bit more and realized it states all that .

Thanks!

[Solved] LTS Release?

Is there an LTS version of Mint? It's been a hot minute since I've used it and frankly I'm kinda unhappy with the way Ubuntu is evolving. I'd prefer to install and have a long-term updates on a machine. So, is there a release schedule where one version is supported for a long time? Sorry if this has...

Re: An open source social network

Just joined and looks interesting but does seem a bit like a mass of self promotion. Lots of boosts and wiring things and dollar signs lol (which I don't really have an issue with, i signed up to monetise my channel straight away as it gave me the option to do so) , I'll give it a go and see whats ...

Re: 1000+ updates and cinnamon removed?

It doesn't make sense. You either track Latest and receive Update Packs when they're tested and released, or track Incoming and participate in the UP testing process yourself. Not both. What do you mean doesn't make sense? With plain Debian7 I point sources to Wheezy, testing, and sid repos at the ...

Re: 1000+ updates and cinnamon removed?

I've had latest and incoming available for the last several weeks and this just showed up today (haven't done an update in about 10 days). IOW, these weren't here when I installed LMDE and added those repos in December. I might also add, I had to remove "mint-meta-debian-cinnamon" a while ...

1000+ updates and cinnamon removed?

Hi all, I have just done an apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade. I haven't given apt the go-ahead yet, as it as some pretty crazy things it's saying. First, here's my source.list: adam@lmde ~ $ cat /etc/apt/sources.list ##LMDE deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import...

Re: Terminal hangs on exit

Solved... sort of... but this is so weird that I can hardly believe it... I removed the proprietary Nvidia driver and went back to nouveau and now "exit" works! UPDATE: After playing around a little more, it seems that version 319 of the Nvidia driver for my FX 880M card is causing the pr...

Re: How much harder to use and "rough edged" is LMDE

Sometimes it means finding a firmware yourself, or tweaking a setting. I haven't had any hiccups of the major type since LMDE. Very impressed, feels like Debian with the Mint flare. you're vey lucky. my LMDE die on his first kernel upgrade (lol) That's unfortunate. I don't know about the LMDE repos...

Re: Blank screen instead of sleep closing notebook lid

Found it. Have to use gsettings.

Code: Select all

gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power lid-close-ac-action nothing & gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power lid-close-battery-action nothing

Blank screen instead of sleep closing notebook lid

Hi, I recently moved to LMDE as my main distro, from Mint 14. I used to be able to click the power icon and make it so the notebook blanks the screen instead of sleeping so downloads and compiling wouldn't stop.

How do I do this in lmde cinnamon now?

This works on LMDE too. Compiled yesterday in about 55 minutes. Kernel 3.12.6. Considering a repository to distribute latest kernels.

Bump.

Hoping to get a fix for this before I install Mint 16 (fresh install, of course), so if this problem reoccurs in the future, I'll have the information needed to resolve this.

Re: Adekah Linux

I have respect for you for the fact that you put time and effort in this project. I hope you learn a lot from it and of it. However, I must say that this is yet again another distro based on personal ideas, wishes and demands. I'm not sure that your distro will fill a gap or will meet the demands o...

Adekah Linux

Hi; I decided I'd try my hand at making a distro. Now here were my thoughts on it. We have the plain Gnome 3 experience on Debian, we have a Cinnamon experience on Mint, and a Unity experience on Ubuntu. And while Mint has their Mate version, it is full of their software in addition to default. I'm ...

Re: Mint's Relationship with Ubuntu

Then they would have a lot of new programs to develop. If they use a program that has a F/OSS license, they usually have to release the source for it too.

And if they made Unity proprietary? Not like Mint ships with it, or that it's any good.

Re: What if Linux Mint moved away from Ubuntu?

Early in Mint's life, that was what was done. Each release was based on the previous Mint release. Mint started showing Mint only bugs, and it was increasingly more unreliable to add from the repositories, kinda like Debian repos are to Ubuntu. This is just my opinion from then. EDIT Read original p...
