No. Last summer I ditched my VM with win7.
The last time I used win7 is about 2 years ago just to deDRM an ePub. The later ePubs I bought had social or no DRM, so I didn't need win anymore.

LMDE2 was released even before Debian Jessie was released. So why it has to take so long with LMDE3 I really don't understand.

I'm using the Brother driver for my HL-1110 and it's working good. Haveit for almost 2,5 years now

If you need AutoCAD for your work you can ask your employer if he is willing to pay for the BrisCad license, good chance it's even cheaper then Autocad

Maybe.
Since* it's possible to upgrade from Linux Mint 17.3 to 18 I think the team will make it possible to upgrade from LMDE 2 to 3 after a couple of weeks after the release of LMDE 3
* before it was not possible to do a decent upgrade.
Just my thoughts ;)

An other downside of Wine is that it doesn't work with USB unlike a virtual machine.
