Mint 18 XFCE vs. Mint 18 Mate
Hello, all, The desktop I'm presently using is a nine year-old HP Pavilion a6113w: 1.6 GHz dual core processor, 2 GB ram. I'm triple-booting Linux Mint 18 Mate, Ubuntu 14.04 Unity, and Windows 8.1. (I need Windows for school and I still can't make up my mind on Unity and Mate). By far, Windows runs ...

Setting up Q4Wine
Hello all,
I'm attempting to get Q4Wine up and running and I suppose I need to create a /usr/lib/wine folder or file. Right now, none exists on my Linux Mint 13 Maya/Mate.
What command might I use to accomplish that with commandline?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm using LightMint17-3 right now (I just installed Enlightment-17 and am really enjoying it). And it updates and apt works; it's obviously still being supported.RacerBG wrote:LM 17.3 does not exist at the moment.

LightMint17-3
Hello, I'm presently confined to using an older notebook/tablet: Compaq tc4400, 2.0 GHz, 3 GB ram, 160 GB HD, (no optical drive); Windows 10, Ubuntu 12.04.5, LightMint17-3. I'd like to have Linux Mint on this computer since Mint is my favorite OS. The problem right now is that I only have a one GB f...

lubuntu. Found it by watching a Youtube review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htIlUSaYuNY). I'm posting this with the live CD. While I can't say I'm impressed with it, I think I'll install it anyway and see if I can install a Mate desktop. Thanks to administrollaattori and all other contributors f...

Re: Create mini iso installer
So that would be a Debian install; not LMDE, right?
I'm downloading a a Mint 17.2 iso now and I'll see if I can just delete some files so it'll fit on a one GB flash drive. I'm under the impression that all I need is the base system and grub and then get the rest online.

Re: E-4000 Gateway computer, single core having problems
BUMP Hello, all. The computer in my signature went out a week ago. I think the problem might be the integrated graphics card. And this couldn't have happened at a worse time. Oh, well. In the meantime, however, I have a 11 year-old Gateway E-4000 running Windows 7 and Linux Mint 11 Katya (I don't ha...

Re: How to replace Gnome 3.4 Screensaver with Xscreensaver
I haven't had any luck with getting xscreensaver to use Pictures folder slideshow. Nevertheless, the screensaver app that I've found to work as good as the Gnome 2 screensaver (and just as easily) is the Mate Screensaver (see screenshot).

<SOLVED> Re: Time and Date on LMDE won't open
Thank you all the information and suggestions. I have too admit, however, that instead of hanging in there and learning how to fix the problem, I resorted to what has worked most often for me when I didn't know and couldn't find out what to do: I reinstalled. So now the time and date are accurate, a...

<SOLVED> Time and Date on LMDE won't open
The time on a fresh install of LMDE is incorrect. When I go to Menu>Administration>Time and Date and click on the padlock icon "click to make changes," nothing happens.
How do I change the time to the correct time?
As always, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
