Ok, I did the right click, Open in Terminal on "Downloads" folder itself. but don't know where to go from there

Only option was "Open with Archive Manager"

Then this new file in downloads option: "Open with text editor"

( I did try cd Downloads in terminal)

Agreed. he should do that as it's simple enough on Mint... shift+print screen and then one can manually select what one wants to show in the screenshot that way using mouse pointer with holding left click and moving mouse over the screen in the area you wan...

I now see that the arrangements have only changed when I go to post an item on a forum and select a folder from which to upload it.

But when I checked the folders themselves, the files are all in normal alphabetical order.

The files in my desktop folders changed from alphabetical order to reverse alphabetical order. The reverse happened not too long ago. And there was a period where there was no alphabetical order. Mint 19.2 [Don't know how to edit signature]

I just updated this IBM T-60 which I have not used in two years, from Mint 17 to Mint 19.2 xfc 32 Bit. Mint 17 had Opera in the Software Manger but this one does not. I downloaded form Opera site to open with gbd but would not install it.
