Re: Update crashed my locale language settings

Well, this post is over a year old. Someone should close this topic, as I am not even using Mint anymore.

Re: [SOLVED] Google Chrome Flash Issue - Fast Forwarded Vide

I'm using a few PPAs on a system based on Debian stable and so far no issues, but it's not Mint anymore, that's why I won't name it here, so that it's not considered advertising.

Re: Leaving Mint due to stability issues

I won't name the distro I'm using to avoid advertising and go against the rules, but it's based on Debian stable and so far everything works. The Mint community is great and has always been helpful, so I'll hang out on the forums for news and such, but that's about it. Again? Well enjoy the move I ...

Has anyone tried this on Debian stable and it worked?

Re: Leaving Mint due to stability issues

Like I said, for some it works, for some not and I've had issues with Ubuntu from the beginning, the only reason I used Mint was, though based on Ubuntu, the great updater it has protecting you from kernel updates, which can break your system.

Leaving Mint due to stability issues

Well guys, to make it short, I decided to abandon Mint at least until it comes to the wise decision of abandoning Ubuntu and moving to something stabler, like Debian stable instead. Following Ubuntu's buggy pattern and being based on it made me realise it isn't really an option for me. It's just reb...

Re: Google Chrome Flash Player Issue - Fast Forwarded Videos

Ok I've found this workaround:

- add the following PPA to your system: https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/stable
- from Synaptic remove Chromium and install Chromium-browser

Re: Google Chrome Flash Player Issue - Fast Forwarded Videos

Sorry for posting in the wrong category. Now, any ideas lads and gurls? Or a good alternative to Chrome except Opera and FF with good plugin support? A browser in my eyes should have minimum of LastPass, Adblock, Syncing of Bookmarks and Greasemonkey script support.

[SOLVED] Google Chrome Flash Issue - Fast Forwarded Videos

Hi lads,

as described in the topic, I've got the following:

Whenever I try to view YouTube, listen to Soundcloud or whatever site streaming Flash content I get it fast forwarded. I'm using LMDE x64 bit, with latest Google Chrome 20, since Chromium for LMDE is outdated. Any ideas?

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

I've tested all the browsers and have to stick with Firefox 'till we get an update, because of outdated software I'm having problems working with what I preferred. Really sad...... Whaouuuuhhhhh that's a terrible problem...  more seriously, I don't see why you have problems with "out d...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

I certainly hope we're getting UP5 very soon. I've found, that the issues I had on my system with browsers e.g. Chromium were really caused by outdated software. What didn't work with Chromium v17 worked flawlessly with Google's version 20 with just Flash issues. I've tested all the browsers and hav...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

Ok, Flash causing real issues. Most of the times, either videos or sounds on the web are played in fast forward mode, can't play them in normal speed. Any fix maybe, anyone?

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

Using Google Chrome now, everything seems to be fine. What I like especially when installing certain apps like Chrome from Google is it automatically adds itself to your list of repos for updates. This could be a handy feature for all future apps for LMDE as well.

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

@ Inokie Have you looked at Sabayon? I actually ran the same installation of Sabayon for three years before I jumped ship to LMDE! Sabayon continued to update without breakage. My only issue with Sabayon was the fact that Gnome 3 updates kept messing up my KDE / GTK integration. In hindsight, a rel...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

My LastPass stopped to work LastPass version? FF version? other addons installed when that happened? FF12 here (default), LastPass 1.90.6 (the latest FF apparently provides me) and no issues whatsoever. When I tried to install Google Chrome, I had Flash player issues Flash version installed in the ...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

Look, Inoki, there are many users on this site who are concerned with the same problem like you, i.e. waiting for the new UP and complaining why is it so slow to come. Just take a look at other topics. But it is a fact that Mint developers are doing the best they can to help us. They deserve the cr...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

Well, Inoki, why don't you return to Windows then? LMDE is definitely stable enough and it is an excellent OS. Besides, even Ubuntu and Fedora, let alone Debian, are much better choice than Windows. If you prefer Windows, it's up to you. I only hope that the vast majority of us will remain loyal to...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

What I also noticed is, that e.g. browser addons and plugins stop to work after some time due to the browser no longer supporting them, what greatly affects your productivity. My LastPass stopped to work all of a sudden and imagine this'd happen to someone who has too many passwords, doesn't remembe...
