A mirror over here. Change software sources to internode after installing, for fast update.

Re: Can't auto mount my NTFS partition

This is what I do, my NTFS data partition on this computer is sda10 and named Storage. Just add this line to fstab and when you reboot the partition is mounted. # Mount media/Storage /dev/sda10 /media/Storage ntfs-3g defaults,locale=en_US.utf8 0 0 You can change this (en_US.utf8 0 0) locale to suit ...

Re: Mint 13KDE - anyone else have sound problems?

I had only problems with VLC and no sound. Therefore you have to install the 'VLC-plugin-pulse' from Synaptic. I am not sure we're talking about the same issue here...but installing the plug-in is usually a good thing to do. I installed the 'VLC-plugin-pulse' from Synaptic and it fixed my issue, Th...

[quote="phd7"] Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I have the same thing happening with VLC, playing videos stored on my hard drive, pause the play back and it will not resume.
Kaffeine playing same videos is OK, resume playing after pause works, must be a VLC issue.

Re: nVidia Driver

The latest driver available from nvidia is 304.37. See here http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html I have that version installed by enabling this ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates. http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/ubuntu-x-swat#. I just do this sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates sudo apt-...

Re: upgrding kernel stuck at Generating grub.cfg ...

If you had added the ppa then used the Update Manager or

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
you would have just updated to KDE 4.9 as you intended.

Re: Laptop Overheats

I believe that your Laptop has this nvidia graphics card

So installing Bumblebee may solve your problem. Some information here

To install in LMDE

Re: Increasing disk space in dual boot environment

You can do it, but things can go wrong so you need to be prepared. I would not attempt to shrink Windows 7 if you do not have access to a Windows installation DVD to repair the MBR if needed. And to move the Linux partition using Gparted may take along time. It is recommended to use Windows tools to...

When I see someone type Windoze, I usually quit reading a post because I think they are idiots and vindictive just for the sake of being vindictive. +1 When I started visiting Linux Forums, to learn more about Linux, I could not relate to all the problems so many Linux users appeared to have in usi...
