Improve flash on linux

One of the first time that I ever noticed after I switched from Windows back in the days was that when watching a video in full screen, swithing the volume will automatically close the full-screen view. Man that was annoying, but I thought that it was just one of the minor details that came with an ...

Can't boot because an error with USB driver

Hello there I'm using LXDE in the Mint 9th edition, and I had a USB that, when I plugged it, the system didn't recognize it. So, I went to Google for answers, and following the instructions in this page http://www.linuxconfig.org/Howto_mount_USB_drive_in_Linux I did the following: -The fdisk -l show...

Re: Image zoom in Nautilus

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Debian, so I couldn't use the ppa. I've downloaded the .tar.gz file for gloobus preview, but when I try to install it, it says that I don't have gtk2-0 installed, given that I have the libgtk2.0 and lbgtk2.0-common. Other times, when I got a similar error while instal...

Image zoom in Nautilus

There's this little extentsion for Chrome and Firefox that lets you, when you put your mouse over a photo, auto-zoom it without opening it. It looks like this http://smashingwall.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/facebook-chrome-ext/facebook-photo-zoom.jpg https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/el...

Re: Trying my best with Mint, but it is slower than Windows

Like they say above, it's important to know a little more about your specifications and wich version of Linux mint are you using. If the main one is just too slow, you could alway try using the lxde or fluxbox version. This versions consume less resources than the main one.

Re: Enable compiz at boot

It's docky the only thing that doesn't work with compiz, or is it all of compiz?

If not, there is a similar problem with LMDE, and someone made this script to make it work. You found it here

[Solved] Changing format in clock applet

I was surfing in omgubuntu lately and found a way to change the clock applet to something a little more pleasing http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Top-Expanded-Edge-Panel_015-copy.png However, when I followed the instructions it didn't get me anywhere, just to a "???" i...

Re: Problems with a key

Sorry for answering so late. I installed Keytouch, but after trying the two options for Sony, neither of them was the one I needed. Anyway, I gave it a shot to evtest, and after a bit of playing arond, I got this felipe@Felipe ~ $ sudo evtest /dev/input/event3 Input driver version is 1.0.0 Input dev...

Re: Open .desktop files in AWN

I've solved it

If you manually add the app, it will open with the text editor. The solution is to drag the .desktop file directly to the dock. Thanks to the 25 people that at least looked at the post :)

And if the idea doesn't fly, at least lets add Startup-Manger by default, for a little more customization.

(Solved) Open .desktop files in AWN

Hello I'm using LMDE, and for some odd reason, when I want to open a .desktop file in AWN, it opens... but in gedit. However, if I open it with Nautilus, it opens correctly. It happens with files made with Mozilla Prism and with Chromium. I've been searching in google, but haven't found anything, so...
