Re: Dropbox tutorial for LM KDE 17.2? [SOLVED]

I had to remove all traces of Dropbox in my system, especially hidden files. I followed above using CLI and everything works great! Thanks! So the moral of the story is to use CLI instead of Synaptic to get Dropbox to install correctly and work in LM 17.2 KDE. Marked solved.

Dropbox tutorial for LM KDE 17.2? (SOLVED)

I have not used Linux Mint in quite a while. I cannot install Dropbox in KDE 17.2. Does anyone have a tutorial? I have installed dropbox-nautilus and dropbox CLI. Also downloaded program from Dropbox. Followed all instructions. Does not work at all. I like this version of Mint but I need Dropbox. If...

LMDE Squeeze XFCE4 Google Chrome settings (solved)

Hello forum!

I just installed XFCE4 to my LMDE Squeeze. Google Chrome hesitates to connect to websites. Firefox is working fine. I want Google Chrome to work like it does under GNOME. Is there some kind of setting I need to adjust? Thanks!

Re: Debian Testing

tdockery97, if you change "testing" for "squeeze", keep an eye open. Now it won't make any difference, but if the Mint developers keep LMDE based on Debian testing then in the future some custom tools may not work if they depend on some future Debian testing resource that Squeeze won't have. So my ...

Re: Share your Debian /etc/apt/sources.list

Could somebody please post their /etc/apt/sources.list for sid? What are all of the ones that are needed? I am assuming you need to use apt in the CLI instead of mint update.

Re: HOWTO: LMDE "LTS / Stable"

The Mint repository includes under 40 Mint specific packages (including themes and wallpapers) and over 80 Firefox and Thunderbird packages. You can prevent breaking Squeeze during upgrade by using "Default Upgrade" within Synaptic or "apt-get upgrade" within Console, Heres the LMDE "sources.list":...

1- Open gparted (menu/administration/gparted)
2- Select your swap partition and right click on it
3- Select "swapon" !!

To check; open terminal and type "free"

Hope it helps!
This worked for me. Thanks, it couldn't have been easier.

Re: HOWTO: LMDE "LTS / Stable"

Would not this take the fun out of having a continuously rolling update? To each his own, but I think this would defeat the purpose and the beauty of LMDE. Where am I wrong on this? Just curious. I probably do not know enough so therefore I am dangerous.

Re: The verdict so far?

I have been using LMDE since Friday. Everything is working perfectly. The better half only noticed the change because of the log in screen. Other than that, she still thinks she's using Mint 9 LXDE! Thanks to everybody. This is a keeper. Been awhile since I use Gnome. It is great. Thanks once again....

delay on log in screen

Hello everyone! I just love Linux Mint!! I just did a fresh install of Isadora LXDE and everything is working great but one problem. When signing in, it takes about 10 seconds before I can type in my log in. Typing away does nothing but show the cursor. Not a big issue, but the better half does not ...
