SOLVED DigiKam uninstalled

Last week I got an update for DigiKam 4.10.0 to 4.11.0 (philips ppa). After the update DigiKam had been uninstalled. Mint 17.1 KDE . The problem seems to be liblensfun0. Currently 2.8.1 is installed but 0.3.0 which is needed will not install even though it is on philips ppa. I tried the .tar.gz and ...

Re: Fed up with Mint

A Quadcore with 4GB ram and it's too slow for Windows??? I think not..

What do you call "too slow for Windows"?

Try burning the ISO to a DVD and install that way.. USB is not always the best way to go..

Interesting thing I have found Windows and Linux

I do a lot of buying and selling on eBay and recently found an interesting issue with Windows that is not present on Linux. When you want to search a key word and want to start with ending first in Linux it starts with the first one that is soon to end but in Windows you have to go through many page...

Re: Is Mint 17.1 Cinnamon & KDE supposed to be stable or --

1. One reason I switched to Cinnamon was the mind-bendingly FRUSTRATING 30 second timer at log off. I'm a long time KDE user and I have never encountered 30 second shutdowns..more like 10-15 seconds.. The KDE launcher is... urm... acceptable but kind of Windows bumpy. Redmond good-enough Smooth as ...

Re: Linux and Android

Malware can infect any OS. Android users commonly refer to malware infestation as a virus which isn't really the case..

Most malware infestation on the Android comes not from infected apps but instead from visiting websites such as **** sites..

Re: How to make Adobe support Linux

Unfortunately, until projects like the GIMP and others put on their big boy paints and support CMYK color separations it will always be amateur hour for Linux graphics. I have tested every Linux PDF tool I can find and not one supports CMYK which makes them basically useless. If Linux graphics proj...

Android phone accessible in Linux Mint 17 KDE

I recently went back to the Android (Samsung Galaxy S5) over the iPhone and was happy to see that it works fine with Mint 17 KDE. The iPhone was iffy. I could connect but it would disconnet before I was able to do much backup and I was unable to load images etc.. I can access internal storage as wel...

Re: Geeqie error on Nikon raw NEF files

Gwenview will open a .NEF file in Gimp from file-open with. You can then choose Gimp. Just tried it so I do know it works.. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say "importing" photos. I've never had to import any photos into Gwenview.. To better understand your issue I just installed Ge...

Re: Geeqie error on Nikon raw NEF files

I have hundreds of .NEF files and have never used Geeqie to view them. Gwenview in KDE works as does Shotwell or Gthumb in Mate or Cinnamon.
If you want to edit .NEF files go to synaptic and install UFRAW into Gimp. This is the native Raw image viewer and converter/editor..
