UPDATE... Somehow, after a re-install of the Realtek driver, the piece of crap Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Card works now with my home Wi-Fi router, which is a Netgear N900, Model WNDR 4500v2. Just did a speedtest (OOKLA), and I got these results: Ping: 21ms Dowload: 41.63 Mbps Upload: 5.36...

Re: Weird Problem with Sound Linux Mint 18.1 Serena MATE

OK, I just noticed something by looking at both inxi -Fxzd outputs side by side (besides the different numbers of lines of text, that is). When sound works, I have 214 processes running, after it quits there's only 199 . Any guess of how this is related to the sound problem, or even better, a diagno...

Re: Un-install? Or impossible?

The best and safest way, and the ONLY WAY that I always do that is this: 1. Use either Acronis Home or DBAN to do a deep delete of your hard drive(s) and/or SSD(s). If OP were planning to sell or discard computer I'd agree with this -- zero out drive or overwrite with random data using DBAN first s...

How to boot a live ISO from Hard Drive with GRUB2 ???

OK, here's the deal... I am already able to boot Live ISO from hard drive. The only problem is that it only works when the ISO files are stored on the first hard drive (sda or hd0), the same hard drive where my Linux System is installed. I cannot figure how to do it from another internal hard drive....

Re: Anybody knows if Mint 18.2 Sonya will have MATE 1.18 or 1.16 ???

I think it is ready as it is in the 'Linux Mint 18.2 [Implemented]' section in the roadmap. I have tried Mate 1.18 using a Manjaro Mate release, it works great and is not beta. http://tipsonubuntu.com/2017/03/15/install-mate-desktop-1-18-in-ubuntu-16-04/ Might work for you but I have not tried it. ...
