nemo breadcrumbs customization by a bleeding noob

Hi, perfectionist that I am, I don't like the look of the beadcrumbs bar in nemo 1.8, and would like to try to integrate it better with the Mint-X borders' "flat" look. I've read these instructions to customizing it, and created the nemo.css file similar to the github file in /usr/share/themes/Mint-...

Re: Cinnamon desklet settings do not open

Reporting in with the same problem. Switching to English helps for now, but I could do with a fix.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working ( mint 14 cinnamon )

For the record, and in case anyone else has the same problem as I have, a useable workaround for workspace switching is to install wmctrl (it's in software center) and set custom shortkeys. First, open a terminal and look up how wmctrl adresses your active workspaces with wmctrl -d The first number ...

Re: LM14 Cinnamon, MDM and Workspace selector

I'd like to save my programs to a workspace, much like the experience on a mac. I have three workspaces, but so far I haven't been able to find a way to 'save' a program to a workspace. Is this possible, or planned? If by that you mean have a program open on a specific workspace rather than the one...

Re: Firefox 17, window size & location; localstore.rdf

I did some more fiddling around and found that it does remember the window size in safe mode, but uninstalling all extensions does not help. Not even a fresh, unaltered install remembers window size & place - unless in safe mode. Does anyone have an idea what could be going on?

Re: 1.6.7: Desktop icons are gone, missing setting in option

I tried the last poster's idea of uninstalling nautilus via package manager with no luck. Actually, after a reboot my desktop didn't render. Stumped. Again, this only worked after setting Nemo as the default browser as per this workaround: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=208&t=115611&p=...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working ( mint 14 cinnamon )

You seem to misunderstand the problem, no offence intended. The problem is that changing - or even using - the keys (pre)set to trigger the keyboard shortcuts in the keyboard menu does nothing and the only working way to set them is to define custom shortcuts under the menu point "custom shortcuts"....

Re: LM14 Cinnamon, MDM and Workspace selector

In Login Window you add the names of the users you want to appear in the login screen - Mint always chooses customisability over simplicity. LightDM is simple and elegant but you can't customize it. MDM is the most customizable login manager for Gnome right now. Sadly though, they do not in fact ap...

Re: 1.6.7: Desktop icons are gone, missing setting in option

If you don't mind using Nemo instead of Nautilus, uninstalling Nautilus via software manager after changing the default file manager to Nemo fixed it for me. Apparently the two programs are having a war over who gets to handle the desktop.

Sorry, I forgot to say. I tried that already, to no avail. Well, I guess I'll have to wait fo rthe next update and hope they fix it.

1.6.7: Desktop icons are gone, missing setting in options

Hi, I am on Mint 13 and have a problem with my desktop icons since the updates to Cinnamon 1.6.7 came through. First, Nemo did not handle anything, so I set it to default file browser by the method described here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=208&t=115611&p=648075#p648075 Since then, ...

Thanks for your reply! I checked via file properties and did sudo chmod -R 777 to be sure, but sadly, no change.

Firefox 17, window size & location; localstore.rdf

Hi, ever since the update to Firefox 17 came through the Update manager, Firefox has been acting rather erratically. It does not save window size and position for the next start anymore. Instead, it comes up maximized each time. So I reset it via Help > Troubleshooting. After that, it came up in win...

Re: Mint 13 Mate - Compiz window placeing, panel viewport sw

Forgive the double post, but I just notced another weird thing Compiz is doing: In its viewport switcher settings, I have set commands in the "go to specific viewport" tab for the first 4 viewports, because they are the only ones I use. The commands are <super>1 through 4. Any window I put next to t...

Mint 13 Mate - Compiz window placeing, panel viewport switch

Hi everyone, I have two problems using Compiz. One is that fixed window placement does not work: I want to bind for example my Guayadeque to the second viewport, so I added a rule to that effect under fixed window placement - windows with fixed viewport in Compiz' Place Window plugin (class=Guayadeq...

Re: livemocha.com display error in firefox and opera

I know this is an old thread, but I have a similar problem, only for Japanese characters. On sites like kanjibox.net, everything displays correctly, but on livemocha, I only get boxes where the characters should go. If I copy & paste the boxes somewhere else, the characters come out correctly where ...
