Re: Updating the LMDE 2 kernel

I don't know how much it's recommended on this forums but you could install smxi: http://smxi.org/site/install.htm#install-with-zip

Re: LM 17 XFCE

I just installed this and it's running great. One small niggle. On dual monitors, with Intel Haswell graphics, HDMI 1 on left and VGA1 on right, I go to right click, desktop settings. From VGA1 (right), I can choose a bunch of wallpapers from the /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops but if I move it to the le...

Re: Mint hijacked my Chrome/Google search!

This works but when I sync another computer, I have to do this again... and again...I constantly switching computers. It's like some sort of virus.

Re: Mint hijacked my Chrome/Google search!

This still doesn't remove it. I should be able to type Google before a search and not get the crappy Linux Mint search. It's so frustrating. I sync my profiles, so the infection has moved to my Windows 7 box too. I can't get rid of it.

Re: Is It Ever Going To Happen

Now that I see what is happening with the testing repos, I think that you are right. Should have gone with stable and add needed features from testing until everything was ironed out. I personally don't use Mint right now, I'm on Arch. But I have tried several LMDE releases and I think that the team...

Re: LMDE SpinX3 Wishlist

I would like to see an Xfce 4.8 version or option in LMDE. Maybe just a meta package that can be installed from inside the Gnome version. I would guess that now Squeeze is stable and we move to Wheezy that many packages are going to rapidly stream from experimental to sid to wheezy and thus to LMDE...

Re: Can upcoming Mint be better than Ubuntu 10.10

"Can upcoming Mint be better than Ubuntu 10.10 ???" Linux Mint 9 already is   The reviews I read mention that LTS version has made Ubuntu very usable to anyone and that 10.10 doesn't really add much innovation concerning this. Seems like they added more social networking, ubuntu one and ...

It's a work of art.

Reminds me of Green Lantern. Maybe when the movie comes out, you can make green lantern wallpaper, with the ring being the LM logo.

Re: Mint Debian

As the release is already a DVD, in the future, it would be cool if all versions were on 1 DVD. So we could have 2 DVDs, maybe a 32bit and a 64bit, with all versions of DE and WM (GNOME,KDE, etc). Just throwing it out there.

I would have to vote to keep vlc as default player. IMHO it's the best overall player.
VLC or SMplayer is fine

Re: Mint Debian

Has anyone else tried importing bookmarks from firefox in LM9 to firefox in LMDE? When I tried importing "bookmarks.html" from a thumb drive exported from LM9 it only imports a small part of the file. No indication of an error, it just doesn't copy the whole file. It looks like the file on the thum...

Re: Mint Debian

@nadir The link you posted regarding my sound card does work, to an extent. I have tried that method before and certain things work (laptop speakers) and others don't (hdmi output when connected to external TV amongst others, headphone output very crackly). I could probably work out those issues bu...

Re: Port MintMenu to Qt-KDE

lancelot already comes pretty close to mintmenu This is completely false, it's nowhere near as good as mintmenu. Sometimes I go back to GNOME just to install mintmenu but then GNOME frustrated me and I go back to KDE. KDE is awesome, except for the menu and Kopete, but that will be upgraded soon, a...
