Re: Has anyone gotten "Brightside" (hot corners) to work ?

OK. It IS working. I found you just need to keep the cursor in the corner for a second or two to trigger the action . Just a quick 'poke' in the corner will not do it. Actually its most likely better to take a short period for the trigger action to work, so that a casual mouse drift in the area does...

Getting "Brightside" (hot corners) to work ? [SOLVED]

Brightside http://www.webupd8.org/2011/04/set-up-hot-corners-edge-flipping-in.html Brightside is a tool to assign various actions to the corners and edges of your screen especially designed for those who do not use Compiz. If you use Compiz, use CCSM and/or Ubuntu Tweak instead (though only a few C...

Re: HOW TO: update, clean cache, and remove 'orphans' - 1cli

Monsta You know, I just noticed that myself... I guess after years of running Debian Testing and SID, (and not using LMDE update tool on LMDE2) I never expected a distro based on Debian Stable to have any restrictions on updates. This seems odd, but I guess they have a reason. I'll edit the O...

Its in the LMDE2 forum.
I would, but not enough space to add to title...
I will edit the OP post though..

Re: HOW TO: update, clean cache, and remove 'orphans' - 1cli

PS:
This is meant for LMDE only, not Mint main (With updated levels), as it will update everything available, nothing held back..

Just was notified that LMDE2 also uses update levels... Who would have 'thunk'.. :?:
(Seems a tad overcautious to me, but ...)

HOW TO: update, clean cache, and remove 'orphans' - 1click

EDIT: This is for LMDE only (not Mint main)... AND, it ignores update levels , it will update everything. SO, its not for everybody, just those who feel confident using it.... ------------------------------- I have found this to be the simplest way to keep upgraded, PLUS is cleans the cache,...

Re: Tracking sid/unstable with Betsy

Hi Mark I had been tracking SID with LMDE2, but abandoned it (Seemed little interest on the forum), and Clem mentioned that Cinnamon would have issues with SID. http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=192258 I am using Sparky tracking SID with XFCE and all is fine there. gene@sparky:~$...

It appears to be an issue with the new Chrome update not with Mint.
I have the same issue on Sparky Linux and Solus. The next Chrome update should address it...

Re: LMDE2 - Betsy - with XFCE (My Setup) [DU to XFCE 4.12]

Glad it worked for you... :) =========== Just a note for reference. Seems most of the XFCE 4.12 package upgrades just hit Debian SID this morning. They will also come to anyone tracking Debian Testing in about two weeks or so, BUT not come to LMDE2 tracking the default repos (Jessie, which is Debian...

Re: Upgrade LMDE To Kernal 4.0 (Yes or no)

If you really want the 4.0 kernel in LMDE. You could use SMXI and install the Siduction kernel.. SMXI http://smxi.org/ http://packages.siduction.org/?Repositories:base_amd64 linux-image-4.0.0-towo.1-siduction-amd64 (4.0-1) I have the 3.19-3 towo installed with no issues...

Re: LMDE2 - Betsy - Tracking SID - Breakages (report here).!

Hi exploder.. :D Heck, there is not much to it. I think most anyone could do it. I guess I was one of the early LMDE users when it first came out and was tracking Debian Testing. I liked that, and did not care for the change to Update Packs at all. (Very hard for the devs to keep current, they made ...

Re: LMDE2 - Betsy - Tracking SID - Breakages (report here).!

Killer XFCE always gets a bad rap because its default setup is so bland.... A good theme, icons (and turn ON COMPOSTING) transform it from an ugly duckling into a swan... Plus XFCE 4.12 will be along before too far (some packages are already in Experimental). It wont come to Default LMDE2 at...

Re: HowTo: Compile/Install Linux Kernel 3.19 on Debian Jessi

You can compile, but an easy way is to use SMXI and install the latest Siduction kernel.. (3.19.1-towo.2-siduction) http://smxi.org/ http://smxi.org/docs/ Smxi is a feature rich, powerful script, and has the following primary features and options: System Upgrades (dist-upgrade / upgrade) Kernel upgr...
