Re: Fedora Edition?

What about openSUSE? Maybe an enterprise edition based off of Red Hat (RHEL), CentOS, or maybe n SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED); but then, a server edition would be a great idea...

I agree, but I may have unconsciously mentioned Distrowatch in my last post, not exactly the message I wanted to output...

Re: Mint Ranking on Distrowatch

I did put a smile on my face, but Linux Mint still is not #1...yet.

Hello from Texas!

I run Linux Mint from Virtual Machines, and feel paranoid about making a dual boot of another operating system, so until I can learn as much as I can from using a verity of Linux distributions, I continue to run other os's from VMs. Distrowatch has brought me here, I have tried several distributions...

Re: Mint Ranking on Distrowatch

True, but I imagine in another 7 days that it would be the same as it was before the LMDE release in a week, Ubuntu would still get the most hits with Fedora , Linux Mint and openSUSE following closely behind in that respective order in the same spread. In reality, Ubuntu still holds the biggest num...

Re: Mint Ranking on Distrowatch

Wow, even I'm shocked.... and I check distrowatch everyday for new distros I could try. I bet it's because of the debian release from not too long ago, I wonder how long it will stay like that? Ubuntu is not far behind.

Re: My issues with Mint KDE

I run Linux Mint KDE on a VM (Virtual Machine) with no headaches, flash videos play like a dream, no problems with the network adapter. Once I got the Guest Additions sorted out, and even before adding the GA's it was like I wasn't running it within the VM, just like it was installed on my computer ...

Re: Installing virtualbox 3.2.8 guest additions Linux Mint K

(live from Linux Mint VM, KDE edition)

It works! kernel setup went as planned, all it needs now is a reboot to see if it completely worked!

Re: Installing virtualbox 3.2.8 guest additions Linux Mint K

It's a no-go, I tried it from the test user, but still the guest additions still fail the kernel setup, as for everything else, they install jest fine. When I looked at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log, which is created by the installer it says that it cant find the sources of my current Linux kernel.

Installing virtualbox 3.2.8 GA Linux Mint KDE (solved)

If this is the incorrect place to put this, I apologize. I run three different versions of mint Linux on Vbox 3.2.8, GNOME, KDE, and Fluxbox. For the GNOME and Fluxbox versions the Guest additions install just fine; however, with the KDE edition, the kernel setup of the Guest additions fail. I'm uns...
