Re: [Solved] Tara 19 Mouse and touchpad settings

I had the same problem with LM 19.1 Cinnamon with the touchpad being too sensitive, too fast. Taking the steps above (removing, installing) caused the touchpad to not work at all. Using Timeshift I just rolled things back and went with the other recommendation in the Release Notes, which was to inst...

Re: Touchpad strange behaviour in Mint 17.1

Similarly, edge-scrolling worked fine for me with an MSI laptop and LM 16. Now with a Lenovo B50 and Rebecca it does not. Selecting that option in the Mouse and Touchpad area of Settings has no effect. Pgyure, when you say it worked fine upon updating to the latest the kernel, is that doing that on ...

Re: Canon Printer Drivers

Now having had the multifunction for a month, regarding scanning, from Canon Ireland I downloaded the appropriate ScanGearMP file. After installing the debs, however, neither Simple Scan nor XScan are recognizing the scanner. But I did get a scan to work by doing the following: press alt-f2, and typ...

Canon Printer Drivers

In case some do not already know this, Canon Ireland (www.canon.ie) often has Linux drivers, when Canon USA does not. (In the past I have seen Canon Australia have the drivers, too.) This weekend we purchased a PIXMA MG3522 printer at a Walmart. Before purchasing I looked for a driver. As in the pas...

Re: Brother HL-2270 landscape printing...suddenly gone!

I'm running LM 16 as the solo bootup system on my laptop. For months my Brother HL-2270 laser has printed fine, does duplex even, but last week it suddenly is no longer printing landscape. The program used doesn't matter, the result is the same. I don't have a solution for you but I recently tried ...

Re: <SOLVED> HDMI in LM 14

Fantastic, thanks for the fix. My AMD A10 sound works excellently! One thing though. The display is no longer filling the whole screen and the fonts look a little squashed. The display settings think that it is 1920x1080 but it doesnt look like it. Would be grateful for your thoughts. Regards Andre...

Now that I've moved on to LM 16, the same wireless mouse & keyboard still work well.

Re: Plug and play laser printer ?

The wifi capable laser I've been using fine with LM 16 is the Brother HL-2270DW, but personally I have yet to try the wifi with it. I do regularly print via wifi at home with an inkjet, a Canon MG-5300.

Re: HDMI in LM 14

After a long hiatus in trying to solve this problem, today it is solved. :D I knew it had to eventually work, because even back in Apr. I could see that Mint was recognizing the TV by its abbreviation (as seen in Display Settings), it just wasn't accessing it for some reason. I'm not sure what exact...

<SOLVED> Re: So close, yet so far with Canon LBP6000

Thanks, ptyrider, for your reply. I had seen that post before, wondering whether it worked for the updated 2.60, so now I see that you did indeed get it to work. I'm happy for you! Unfortunately for me, some of the language of the post, refering to scripts and I guess a certain kind of file (?), was...

<SOLVED> So close, yet so far with Canon LBP6000

I believe I followed the instructions from Canon on installing the LBP6000 for Linux exactly (it's an html file, so I couldn't attach it). The problem is nothing prints, not a test page, not a LibreOffice document. The attached png shows detail on what eventually shows once a document doesn't print....

Similar problem, and it appeared only this week. Connected to an update, rather than the hard drive partition reaching a certain point? Attached is a pic with gparted showing my particular distribution of space. Any suggestions or observations are welcome.

HP wireless keyboard and mouse combo

This is more of an FYI than a question. In case anyone else runs into this, today I purchased an "HP Wireless Classic Desktop Keyboard + Mouse" (with wireless nano receiver). As with my previous Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard and Mouse (with wireless desktop optical receiver), it w...

Re: HDMI in LM 14

@dizmoduck: Thanks for the reply. I know nothing about running a script, but if it's just a matter of copying and pasting into Terminal I could give it a go. @Catweazel: I might have miscommunicated. What I am saying is that with LM 12 the video came right up on our flat screen TV before, as soon as...

<SOLVED> HDMI in LM 14

Just recently went from LM 12 to 14 (new hard drive, fresh install). I was dismayed to see that 14 (running Cinnamon) did not work with the HDMI out to our flat screen TV, whereas 12 (running Cinnamon) had zero problems with it. Anyone with thoughts? (Hope that gets fixed soon!)
