My nfs shares/mounts are also broken after the most recent update. Does anyone else have any info or idea if a fix is on its way or do i need to downgrade to the previous version of nfs packages? Thanks for your time and help. Update: Found a work around - replace portmap with rpcbind: http://www.h...

Re: HOW TO: Solve your LMDE audio issues
Hi, Thanks for LMDE and all the help. Unfortunately, I need some. After updating, my sound setting are lost. Output works fine, input produces just noise on sound recorder as well as Skype. It is a HP Compaq nx7300. No internal mic, I am using a headset. The sound card is the well known disaster, I...

Re: Solved ATI driver Problem...
blowtorch, when running Sid / Testing, and fglrx, my sad experience supporting users is that the 'debian way' fails often up to about 2, 3 months a year at worst cases. Not every year not every xorg version not every kernel version, but I have seen multi month failures repeatedly for the rolling re...

Re: Update Firefox
i wouldn't really expect firefox to be updated anytime soon as its in the mint repos and well they have been typically very slow to pipe down new versions of the applications ... i'd expect iceweasel 4.0 from experimental to hit Sid soon then obviously testing soon there after ... Updating firefox i...

Re: LMDE – with SID (unstable) repos – looking for advice.
what are the contents of your sources.list? I think its not totally correct because there are no security repos for sid ... For Sid my sources.list looks something like this (not on my computer right now) deb http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free deb-src http://mir...

Just go for it man, Sid is not as unstable as you may think. It's cutting edge with all the latest packages and has been working quite well for me for some time now. With the new .37 kernel there is no need for these liquorix ones at the moment

Re: LMDE – with SID (unstable) repos – looking for advice.
I use sid and love it ... i would however advise you to not use an update manager instead upgrade using apt about once a week apt-get update apt-get -s upgrade (-s) simulation so you can see whats going top happen first if it says that its holding back packages that mean you need to apt-get dist-upg...

Need advice xorg-server-core + fglrx
How does one properly upgrade xorg-server-core without losing their fglrx drivers?
I have fglrx is installed the debian way according to their wiki http://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary
I am always using the latest stable liquorix kernel
thanks

Re: Why "testing" to "squeeze" now
I have been running the sid unstable repos with out a hitch so when these packages migrate down into the testing branch it should be a smooth transition. Believe me the debian devs are going to do their best to make sure all is well ... why worry, for the sake of worrying? people are giving their op...
