Followed all instructions and still can't encrypt a folder. Is there an option I am missing or a certain place to place the folder?

This is a clean install of Mint 17 Cinnamon. I treid to install a 64 bit version but now the cd rom refuses to mount. Went through all of the instructions. Nvidia site said use 340.43 drivers. Installed 340 drivers with same error messages. Installed and tried Bumblebee which hosed everything and had to re-install system. I don't see where the 64 bit system will help any but I can try it just for fun.

I had this problem and fixed it by rebooting the computer. First time I have ever had to reboot a Linux distro. I am using Mint 17.

Mouse bounces all over the screen
Dell XPS with dell mouse and Mint 16.0 Cinnamon. Can't control mouse. How do I find drivers if that is the problem?
