Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" MATE RC is out!

Hi everyone! Thanks for the work you have done with "Qiana".

I would like to know if there is a definitive date for the final release or an estimate time for the iso to hit the streets.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Re: LMDE based on Wheezy. Is it possible?

Hi wayne, thanks for the reply. I like your advice.
Can you specify on "mintify"? Which would be the packages I have to download, for example, mintMenu, etc.? Are these packages available in debian wheezy repositories?

LMDE based on Wheezy. Is it possible?

Hi! I would like to know if is possible to have a Linux Mint Debian Edition based on the recent Debian release I'm talking about Wheezy. I was thinking of downloading the regular LMDE and pointing the sources to Debian Stable rather than Testing. But as I'm new in this I guess is not THAT easy and s...

Enable write/copy/erase permissions [SOLVED]

Hi! I've recently installed Linux Mint 10 LXDE. My question is because I created another user, plus the default one you use for installation purpose. I have one only-for-data partition which this user can see files but can't copy/erase/modify files. My intention is that both users have all right on ...

Re: Easy to use GUI App for finding files

Yeah, I know gnome-commander is good. The thing is that I would have ti install the entire GNOME DE just for installing that particular program.
I'm looking for some app compatible with LXDE without many dependencies.
Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Easy to use GUI App for finding files [SOLVED]

Hi!
Anyone has some good recommendation for a finding files app? It needs to have and easy to use GUI and be compatible with LXDE Edition.
It would be nice if it could find text within .doc files for example.
Thanks for the help.
Bye!

Automount partitions at start

Hi! I recently installed LM 10 LXDE and I want to know how can I configure my system so it automatically mount all my partitions at the beginning of the session. I have three partitions (one for /, other for /home, and another for data), they are all formated in ext4. Linux Mint 10 LXDE mounts / and...

Re: Help! Can't find xorg.conf?

Ok, I added @xrandr --dpi 96 to the autostart file in lxsession. It work for the root account and other user but not with my main user (the one I installed LM with). I have no idea why this behavior, I open a window as root and the fonts looks different in that window. I tried running the xrandr com...

Re: Help! Can't find xorg.conf?

The thing is that monitor settings isn't saving my display preferences by default. So I used xrandr in LXsession, it worked, but somehow messed the dpi up and the fonts look really small. Therefore I thought in configuring xorg.conf instead, but if it is so complicated as to create one. I rather do ...

How to put mounted drives icons on desktop?

Hi!

Is there any way to access my drives from an icon on my desktop in LXDE?

I'm using LM 10 LXDE, of course.

Adding the trash icon would be great also.

Thanks for any info, I'm new with LXDE.

Bye

Hi! I recently install LM 10 LXDE, I wanted to know if I have to install and additional driver for this card or is it included in the Linux kernel already. Because is a fairly old graphic card.
