Re: Mint Menu Disappeared in Gnome 3

Bug filed: https://github.com/linuxmint/MGSE/issues/25 Maybe it's a bit stupid but did you tried manually copy the menu extension from /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ in the Home folder /.local/share/gnome-shell /extensions/. Restart Shell and then try again Corrected bug preventing menu from lo...

Re: No mintmenu GNOME3

Thank you. That would also confirm that the extension should of course work in Gnome Shell, as I was beginning to think maybe it was the other way around and it would only work in fallback.

Re: No mintmenu GNOME3

Can someone confirm that extensions can't be used in fallback as I had other impressions?

Re: Lost the mint menu :-(

I was reading about extensions a bit and turned up something about the schema files so I was wondering if perhaps there might be a way to delete all the mgse files but it doesn't appear there is a xml or anything in that folder for mint menu but I'll keep looking. I just woke up but I'll post back w...

Re: Gnome-Shell-Extensions

Thought the following section (and other sections) of this site might be of interest to some. (Remember that with some extensions you need to log out and in to initiate them.) Also look for instructions, at site, to add the site's PPA to your sources list. http://www.webupd8.org/search/label/gnome%...

Re: Mint Menu Disappeared in Gnome 3

I've got the same problem. I reported it a few days before the OP: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=205&t=86584 I also have Crossover installed. So it looks like this is related to the bug you mentioned. Postby plutosams on Sun Nov 13, 2011 5:17 pm<<the original posting time, but no worr...

Re: Mint Menu Disappeared in Gnome 3

bump can anyone else confirm this and has anyone seen mention of a solution to it, it could simply be an incompatibility between another currently installed extension from what I;ve read but I cant seem to figure out if it should work once the clashing extension is disabled or if they both have to b...

Re: "mint 11 The panel encountered a problem while loading"

I'm just curious; If it is checking to see if an error occurred in that xsession file, does it mention in that file what the error that occurred was, or is there any way to use the results from that file to track down the actual error that is occurring? Perhaps it seems a lot simpler to me than it a...

Re: CONFLICTING DPMS Between Gnome-Power-Manager & XScreensa

well after some time i had realized that even after purging gnome-screensaver and gnome-power-manager as well as xscreensaver and then reinstalling xscreensaver the dpms still either would give me hard locks or some other error occured, so the questions remained BUMP does anyone out there have any i...

Re: DPMS w/xscreensaver+gnome-power-manager - gnome-screensa

I went ahead and removed gnome-power-manager completely with all it's settings and restarted and now dpms seems to be working properly using the xscreensaver settings, so it would appear the problem is gnome-power-manager and xscreensavers dpms were conflicting, and I thought I had correctly disable...

Re: DPMS w/xscreensaver+gnome-power-manager - gnome-screensa

BUMP I also updated my kernel, and I realized I never included it: 2.6.35-28-generic, from the standard repos. im gonna try a few other things but in the mean time there has to be some kind of log somewhere that says whats happening between the time its enabled and the time the mysterious hard locks...

CONFLICTING DPMS Between Gnome-Power-Manager & XScreensaver

This is a bit more technical, so I will explain things very simple. Running LM10 64bit on an (laptop)AMD e350 w/ATI Mobility Radeon 6310. I have read that it may be possible to achieve my goal by reinstalling gnome-screensaver(yes I uninstalled it) but that might require more technical assistance as...

Re: Drop & Lock box/folder

Well technically the first would be a nice solution but heres where I'm confused. Would that command mean if they were logged in on there account and the command were then run ownership of all files specified or the directory specified would change to whatever I put as the group and owner, meaning t...

You might also want to try what I posted a page or two back as one person has partially confirmed it and no one has denied it.

Drop & Lock box/folder

This sounds like a good place to ask(mint 10 64bit gnome): I am looking for something maybe a script for nautilus, where someone can drag and drop the files or download new files, to a specific folder and that folder will automatically lock the files from being deleted. I was also wondering if that ...

Re: "mint 11 The panel encountered a problem while loading"

I've been following this thread for a while now as I have had this problem since I tried the Mint 11 RC upon first release and I still haven't been able to fix the problem. I've changed to a different distro a couple of times in the hope that there will be a fix released each time I return but so f...
