thanks for the help... due to time constraints and the necessity of my printer right now, i've been forced to....... reinstall windows i will try and work on this in the mean time... thanks for all the help, I'll keep you posted.

ps i am using a laptop and trying to connect wirelessly

aw... i've reinstalled almost every driver packet on my computer and redid the directions on the above mentioned website... now i can see it in my "new printer" "SMB browser" but when i select it, it doesn't allow me to click ok.... gonna keep searching...
