wow i can really relate this to my self i have always had a problem of trying to explain computer fix's to my family members and friends but this is a great guide to help remind me that we all started from the bottom and worked our way up. ty for this post very helpful to me

ok i went to the hardware drivers and downloaded the broadcom-sta for the wl driver for my broadcom 4322 it installs fine and i click on nm-applet it shows a blank wireless network field so it knows the card is there but i know gui's dont always work so i did sudo iwlist scan and got the eth1 Failed...

yea i kinda what to know about this too i had installed wine and installed World of warcraft from cd but when i updated it i got the same error he got
Hey guys I'm not really new to Linux been Windows free for almost 2 years now, but just moved from Ubuntu to Mint. So far it is a really great OS and i think that the little pictures in the Terminal window are great addition as well. Anyway have fun and learn lots !
