I have nothing against KDE, except personal feelings, it feels and acts like they want to mimic the giant MS. But I have notice even Debian (which is the real giant on our side) has split thier ISOs, if you just download and install CD1, there is no KDE. You have to download a special CD1 labaled K...

So, for me, the only DE that have good configuration and modern look is KDE, and even more with KDE4... Enlightenment also looks very well if I want to instal...

Re: 4 mintTools ready for Elyssa

Basically the GUI is made with Glade. You can "apt install glade-3" and "gksu glade-3 /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/mintUpdate.glade &" to modify the GUI. In there you can see if changing the size or properties of some GUI elements fix the problem. I didn't found some proper...

Re: Development

For a distro based on Debian Stable we already have the great MEPIS. sidux use Debian Unstable exceptionally. So Mint Debian could be based on Testing, but this could be a problem, because the Testing could have problems and not receive a fix in a short time. I don't know how do you want to deal wit...

Re: Development

So, this is a new beginning for the Mint Debian CE?

It will be based on Debian Stable, Testing or Unstable?

What will be the default Desktop Environment, Gnome or KDE?

Greetings

Ahhh, I see. You are more proposing that all the CE developers and clem work together to get their releases out uniformly and on time? Could be one solution... Makes sense, but may be a bit hard to achieve. We all have different goals, and live in different places. We seem only to be unified under ...
