Bye Everyone, I'm Leaving

I am leaving everyone. I still tried to contribute but I guess Clem doesn't want me here. 'I will ask for the deletion/ban of some forum accounts (yours, maty, agust and all who participated in hurting our project by making such public arguments), hopefully next week. Don't take offense if you can't...

Re: Torvalds: Microsoft is bluffing & Apple crap

Mac OS X is good used Panther and Tiger for 4 years, but I really like learning about OS's and OS X doesn't have any of that learning stuff. Vista is a load of garbage, but XP is pretty decent unless you hate the Virus and Spyware thing. I love Linux. I would say Mac OS X is the best for people who ...

GPL/Free software for Windows Users

This is a list I made for Windows users to use instead of using the bloated propriety rubbish. Internet Explorer - Firefox Microsoft Outlook - Spicebird or Thunderbird iTunes - Songbird (0.4 is pretty stable now, just some little bugs) Windows Media player - VLC or Miro Nero - Infrarecorder (http://...

Re: Internet Radio

The Linux Mint E17 team had some small issues and have built their own Linux Mint based E17 distro called Maryan Linux. The Maryan Linux website is http://maryanlinux.wordpress.com/ Its best if you don't ask why, I'm don't want to get Clem upset about this topic again, I really admire his innovative...

Maryan Linux

Maryan Linux is a distro based on Linux Mint using E17 as its default Desktop Environment. It will use the same ISO/OS that Linux Mint E17 was going to use until it was cancelled, but Maryan Linux will have NO artwork related to Linux Mint and the website won't have any Linux Mint artwork either. Th...

Re: MINT E17 ENLIGHTENMENT DESKTOP

I want to just stick to E17 for the Mint E17 edition, otherwise it will just be a copy of Geubuntu/OpenGEU. We will see after the official release if its necessary.

That is so funny. But how did she not notice the difference of the mint menu to the Windows Start menu?

Re: Openoffice creates huge Excel file

I've had the a same problem saving in .doc files with OpenOffice. I imagine its because the Microsoft office file code is copyrighted, so OpenOffice has to create their own code to be compatible with MS office files. The MS files start large in OpenOffice, but when putting more info into the file it...

Re: MINT E17 ENLIGHTENMENT DESKTOP

OK! Here we are with the Xfce panel added in the third screen shot . :) It is highly configurable and it can be moved to any side of the desktop. Of course it's redundant here but we can remove some duplicate applets from the shelf (bottom panel). This is only a demonstration of the E17 desktop and...

Try winedoors that I suggested above and if that has the same result check the wine forums.

Re: Guild wars anyone?

You don't need Cedega, there are two other solutions, wine is the complicated one and the easier one is PlayOnLinux, a review and the system software requirements can be found here - http://wine-review.blogspot.com/2008/01/playonlinux.html and the deb file can be found here - http://www.playonlinux....

Re: THE MINT CAFE GANG

I've installed the E17 repository on my Mint Box and I was very impressed in performance, functionality and stability of E17, but some incomplete parts made the looks of E17 a little poor. I wish some modules could be touched up, because I hate that gold bling bling theme being mixed up with some of...

I wish that the debian edition will become the official edition, Mint (Ubuntu) is very slow compared to many distros.

Re: Why KDE4 is so great

Openoffice on the Mac is junk so a native Koffice might attract a following. Amarok is always touted as the best jukebox out there so that might find a following on Windows. Kopete supports webcam and voice chat, Pidgin doesnt. K3B could become the de facto free alternative to Nero and Toast. The M...

Re: Music Player for Mint 5 Finals!!! (Poll)

I don't mind removing mono on Mint 5.0, there aren't any useful apps that are being used in Mint 4.0 that use mono, if there were things like f-spot and banshee pre-installed on Mint I would say don't remove mono, but if there aren't any good pre-installed apps, then why have mono?

Re: Why KDE4 is so great

You don't see any apps that would be good to have ported? Sorry to disagree, dude. What about: -Amarok -Kontact (Outlook is just too dangerous) -Kopete (is a really good all in one messenger, at least for me) -Dolphin (really superb file manager for me) -Digikam (I really like it very much) Well, I...

Re: Why KDE4 is so great

I kan't wait to see the letter k abused on windows and mak. When they port K3B to Windows and Mac, I am certain that is going to destroy Nero and especially Toast. I don't see and other apps that are very useful that KDE can port, Koffice isn't much of a big deal because Open Office is already avai...

I need some help!

It may seem a bit awkward for me asking for help, but it doesn't matter if I made 450 posts ;) . (I know I have maty that can help me out, but I don't want to disturb him from all he has as the moment). The issue is that I've installed e17 on Linux Mint 4.0 and when I use it has none of the configur...
