Thank you for your quick reply. I understand what you are saying but I guess I will have to live with it.

gtk 3.20 or gtk 3.22
I just came over from running Antergos (Arxh), got tired of their constant elitist attitude, but at least I was on the lastest gtk, 3.22 in that case. Now I am here and all my custom themes do not work correctly. My question is, when the heck is Mint going to get gtk 3.20 or 3.22 on the system? Both...

Re: Meta packages
Kingsoft Office or something like that is WPS. I am running Mint 18 sarah with : Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.7.2-040702-generic and that still beggars the question, "Why was LO removing themes and artwork?" Had to be a meta package somewhere because when I tried reinstall themes/artwork, Synaptic reporte...

Meta packages
I just installed WPS and removed LibreOffice and when I did Mint themes, Mint Artwork were also removed. WHY oh WHY? What has LibreOffice have to do with Mint themes and artwork. Fortunately I had backups so no 'real' harm done. I presume that somewhere in there is a meta package that has dependenci...

Re: Just a side note to Clem
I don't believe you guys. They are errors. IF innocuous then don't issue them. For christsake, they are errors. Get over your selff-righteousness about whether Clem should read the posting.
You guys sound like Arch users with all your indignity of someone raising an issue.

Re: Just a side note to Clem
And here we are in September with the same issue. Perhaps the Dev's and Clem should review the .xsession-erors file from time to time.

Just a side note to Clem
Clem, There are numerous errors in the .xsession-errors file (cinnamon:3228): St-WARNING **: Ignoring length property that isn't a number (cinnamon:3228): St-WARNING **: Ignoring length property that isn't a number failed to create drawable (cinnamon:3228): St-WARNING **: Ignoring length property th...

Re: What is the normal RAM usage for Mint 17.1 MATE???
I know I am a bit late in the discussion but I am running Antergos w/Cinnamon and my ram usage at idle is about 350mb. With Chrome running with 1 tab open it is about 700mb. For Mate at idle to be using 1gb seems a bit high to me. When I ran Xfce on Antergos my memory was at about 250mb. When i ran ...

Re: i just want one, universal, cursor theme
You have to edit the /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme
then replace on the 'inherit' line with the EXACT name of the cursor you want to use.
Logoff and you should see your desired cursor at logon as well.
Good luck.

Re: Cinnamon 2.6
I am using Antergos, basically and Arch installer, and very recently install Cinnamon 2,6,7. Man this is one sweet desktop. You guys have done a fantastic job. Fast, really fast, menu display (was one of my pet peeves about being slow) and so smooth. No errors, it just works. BTW, thanks so much for...

Re: xsession-errrors file filling up with 'guint'
7 months and still not fixed. I left a while ago and went to Antergos then just straight Arch. No more of those silly errors that no one appears to want to fix. .xsession-errors should be a pre-requisite check to see if all is well. I have found so many errors, sometimes wtih Themes, sound, you name...

Re: Cinnamon window focus while minimizing
Don't know if you would call this 'clever' but I initially started out with LMDE and then I went to the 'Dark Side'. I changed my repositories to point to SID. I am now running Cinnamon 2.2.16 and do not have the issue you speak of. Follow the instructions on the post http://forums.linuxmint.com/vie...

Re: Title Bar unreachable behind top menu bar in xfce
Also you might check on Panel Properties and see if
Don't reserve space on borders is checked
If checked the windows titlebars will display underneath the panel.

I know I come late to the party, but I was just cruising the site when I saw your post.
Is that the only place where the RED highlight shows?
Change theme?
I'm just taking stabs at you problem, hope I helped.

Re: Cinnamon theme setting
The problem you are experiencing is, I think, the theming. I had a similar problem with selecting and option in the Settings and the text was basically gone and no background highlight (mine is a dark green). It was the almost the same color as the base color. Now I have been running Cinnamon for ab...

Re: Mint desktop acting wierd and breaking
My only thoughts are as follows: I assume based on you inxi output that you are running gnome. I would just re-install all the gnome stuff, gnome-session, gnome-shell.. I think you get my drift there. If that doesn't fix it, try creating a new user. DONOT add any extensions other that what is normal...
