Problem with webcam sessions

Hello Forum. I have a LM10 desktop and my girlfriend is using Windows Vista (yeah I know, but her school insists she uses Windows). We have a long distance relationship and since my Linux adventure we can get a proper webcam stream. I tried lots of programs and opened almost every port on both of ou...

LPI certification

So I just bought some Linux books for personal study and then i found out that there is a LPI cert out there. Also bought the LPI in a nutshell book, really like it. Now i'm think wether or not to do the test to get the cert. It's quite expensive but is it worth the money? Discuss the LPI certificat...

Re: Port forwarding or firewall

Did an "ufw disable" to be sure. So my firewall is off. Unless there is an other firewall in Mint 10 that I am not aware off. It is not a webcam problem. My webcam works fine in Empathy or Google Talk. And there is more wrong then just the webcam. Tried most of the AMSN FAQ but that is not the probl...

Port forwarding or firewall

Hello forum. Since I'm running linux Mint I have some troubles with my applications. But Deluge and AMSN are not working 100% the way I want them to work. In AMSN I can't use my webcam and can't transfer files. In Deluge my speed is like 10kb/s (while I have 100mb internet). I did some port forwardi...

Re: Linux become more like Windows!

You can go two ways with this. 1: You are getting to much or the wrong programs. You can easily delete them (unlike Windows who makes some programs part of the OS like IE or Live) 2: You must make a choise, if you download a live cd you want to have some programs pre installed. At least i do, and at...

Wireless N network

Hello LM Forum. My Wireless G router is giving up on me, i need to reset it dozens of times in order to getting it to work right. I have a 100/100Mbit internet connection and was thinking that an older wireless G router is not good enough. With wireless G i can never get the full potentioal out of m...

Some may print like that.

But most desktop printers don't.

Re: Feedback

Sound logical to me. I was more interesting to hear what kind of technical problems where interesting for the developers. stuff like booting problems, or resolution problems, hardware problems, problems with software.. Problems with the lay-out are never problems but just opinions. If you don't like...

Re: Web Developers

No I was never really IN it.
It was a class at school. Did some HTML, CSS 2, PHP 5.0, Mysql and Ajax.
I was quite fun to do but i wasn't really made for it.

It's a fast world yes. Much faster then normal programming.
One of the reasons why I didn't do anything with those lessons.

Re: Feedback

I'm not a dev but in general if you have a technical bug to report not pertaining to Mint specific tools it should be reported to Ubuntu. If you need help on anything feel free to ask in the Mint forums. As far as your opinion on the user interface/look and feel and such, follow common sense as it ...

I have build some websites using PHP 5.0 but that is a long time ago.
I still know the basics of programming but it was never my best class.

Re: What's your Internet plan?

I have a 100/100Mbs line at my home.
The company send a technician to my home to install everything. Since it's a glass-fiber line it's not that easy to install it yourself, and they gave me a free wireless router if I let that guy in.

Together with phone and TV it costs about 50 Euro a month.

so I like giving feedback about Linux Mint.
I know that developers need many feedback in order to make a product better.

But what feedback is useful and what not?

I have seen worst spammers.
This little man just asks a lot of questions, most of them are already answered.
Just tell him how to use the chat or that he can ask more questions in one topic.

No big problem over here i guess.

So I just ordered Linux All-In-One For Dummies
