Re: Linux blanks out.

Apparently the following command should create a minimal configuration for xorg sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg I found it on this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1130582 Also, the Xorg.conf solved the issue of an undetected monitor for me. I'm not sure it will solve the b...

Re: Linux blanks out.

You know, the problem in my case was pretty much a missing xorg.conf file. Specifically this part: Section "Device" Driver "intel" #BusID "PCI:0:2:0" Identifier "Card0" EndSection Adding the xorg.conf file might fix the issue. Sorry if this is late.

Re: Can't change resolution in Mint 10 Julia

YAY, I pressed random buttons and it worked!!! :D Too bad I can only have 60Hz at 1280x1024. If I want 70Hz, 75Hz, or 85Hz, I have to go lower :(. Can't have everything in life. As far as I understood, that tool updated the kernel and did a dist-upgrade which somehow fixed the monitor detection issu...

Re: Can't change resolution in Mint 10 Julia

Glad I left the Live CD from Mint 9 :) The driver on the live cd was 1.3 Mesa 7.7.1 I already tried jockey-gtk before. Nothing. As for monitor specs, what would you need? Maximum res is 1280x1024 at 60 Hz, though it could be higher for lower resolutions, and it's a CRT DELL monitor. lshw output: *-d...

Re: [SOLVED] Linux Mint 9 crashes.

Yes, upgrading to Mint 10 did solve the crashing. Thank you! :D
Unfortunately, there's another issue, but it's unrelated to this one so this thread is done. Thanks again!

[Solved] Can't change resolution in Mint 10 Julia

For some reason, I cannot change the resolution of my monitor. The only thing shown is a resolution of 1024 x 768 along with 0 Hz and a normal rotation for an "Unknown" monitor. I want the resolution to be 1280x1024 (Maximum resolution), but everything I tried doesn't work. I have an Intel...

Re: Linux Mint 9 crashes.

Mint 10 you say? I'll wait till a stable version comes out first though. If there's nothing I can do with Isadora, then thanks for your time!

[SOLVED] Linux Mint 9 crashes.

Not sure if it's supposed to go here, but oh well... Linux Mint 9 crashes from time to time for me. I believe that it has something to do with my graphics card, but I can't be sure. The crashes occur at different times with different programs. It could be Rosegarden, qJack, web browsers, or even Nau...
