Re: json files
Thank you for the explanation. Simplenote export from the desktop app includes json file and all notes as separate text files (which is what I wanted). Export from the Android app only downloaded the json (which I now see is not much use on its own). So problem solved...

Re: json files
I don't know, perhaps it is solely for importing back into Simplenote! Is that the code they use to display the notes in their web app and android app? But I want to have a copy of my notes on my computer. Is there some way of seeing the actual content of this json file, not wrapped up in code?

json files [SOLVED ]
I am using Simplenote and want to export my notes. The export data option produces a json file, but how do I actually display the notes contained within that file and not just view the file in its 'code' form - ie it looks like an html file, so presumably I need some software that interprets that ju...

Write access to laptop hard disk
I have a Sony Vaio (Windows 10) laptop and have to use that OS sometimes! My Linux system runs from an external hard disk (I know this is not the most efficient way to run LInux). I can access the laptop disc, load files into my linux programs, copy (but not move) files to Linux hard drive - but I c...

HDD partitions
I have 25Gb system (/) and 475Gb storage (/home) partitions on my laptop HDD. Having set up my Mint system now and installed more programs that I regularly use, I find my system partion is over 90% full - obviously I did not allocate enough room for the Linux OS when I installed. Can I make the syst...

Re: Which Boot Device?
 On my (newly acquired) Dell laptop, there are 2 USB 3.0 ports on the right hand side - which I had inserted my Bootable USB stick into. USB stick would not boot from these. On the left hand side there are 2 USB 2.0 ports. When I tried one of these the laptop booted from the USB stick and now ...

[SOLVED] Which Boot Device?
I want to install Linux Mint on my Dell Precision Laptop - presently running Windows10 PRO. It will not boot from my bootable USB. The BIOS settings look as though the Boot Sequence is set up to boot from the USB, but it does not. Perhaps it is one of the others? DellBootSequenceSmall.jpg There is a...
