Re: DVD drive causing failed boot (updated)
Have you found any reasonable reason for this yet? I have all six of my Intel ports taken up so I have to put my CD drive on the ASMedia controller.

For anyone looking into this in the future, test your ram! I had a bad stick. Pulled it out and everything installed just fine.

Re: Mint 13 KDE 64-bit Installer error
You're not the only one with this issue. I'm having the same problem as is at least one other person on the forums, but no one seems to have any ideas.

Re: Install Errno 5
I'm having this same issue with the KDE version. Mint 13 (MATE) installed fine as did Ubuntu (Unity), Fedora (Gnome3) and Bodhi (Enlightenment). So far no luck with Mint KDE though.

[Errno 5] Input/Output Error
I have attempted I don't know how many times to install Mint 13 KDE with zero luck. I've tried everything from turning off apic on boot to installing from DVD/thumb drive, to manually running the installer from the command line with root priveledges. Here's the debug log from the last installer atte...

Re: DVD Drive will not mount
Ok so I got it working. I went yet again to another kernel (2.6.38-12-generic) and everything started working, including my update-grub issues I was having.

Re: DVD Drive will not mount
Just to make sure I just rebooted into a live DVD of CentOS 6 I received with a copy of Linux Format recently. Interestingly enough once in the live environment I couldn't access the DVD. I'm not sure if that's due to the live system using it for resources or if it's part of the same problem. Again ...

Re: DVD Drive will not mount
I just realized this trace call from dmesg and syslog has something to do with the drive not mounting. It didn't make sense to me before and I assumed it was just kernel messages from my IPV6 tunnel. [ 126.300191] Call Trace: [ 126.300197] [<ffffffff81194e0d>] blkdev_get_by_path+0x3d/0x90 [ 126.3002...

Re: DVD Drive will not mount
Yeah I tried the "turn off automounter in nautilus" option to no avail. This has to be something with udev, but for the life of me I can't figure it out since there's no errors coming up in any of the logs.

[SOLVED] DVD Drive will not mount
I've swapped the drive in the hopes that it was just a bad drive, but I get the same error each time I try to load anything. Drop in a disk (any kind, CD/DVD) and go to Computer, double click the icon for the drive (which has updated with a name for the inserted disk) and I get this: DBus error org....

Re: Installing Julia - Need help with fakeraid
Yeah I've been over this stuff already. mdadm is Linux software RAID and dmraid is a linux driver for BIOS raid which is essentially a software raid with hardware support. Now dmraid is suppose to take care of reassembling all the partitions, it seems there's a bug that is keeping it from recreating...

Re: Installing Julia - Need help with fakeraid
I'll throw my hat into the ring here. I'm having a similar problem. I have a RAID setup for hosting some files for my network, OS is on a separate drive thankfully. I can setup a partition and mount it once, but after a reboot it's gone and dmraid only shows the device itself. However any of the par...

Re: Can't Remove Firefox?
If I am not mistaken you can get another browser install it then get rid or Firefox since its being so bothersom to you. I use Chromium. You can get Opera or Seamonkey to replace FireFox. You should read all the posts before replying. This whole thing is about removing firefox after installing Chro...

Re: Tablet Support for Fujitsu Lifebook T900 Tablet
Have you tried installing fjbtndrv? This should pull in the other dependencies needed to bring up the tablet support and enable the tablet related buttons.

Re: Can't Remove Firefox?
sudo apt-get remove firefox removes ff but then installs one of the other browser packages in it's place which starts this whole round robin over again.

Just to plus this one up, I can't update entirely either. Looks like the main repository is down.
