Hallo, the default desktop icons on my system like: My Computer/Trash/ Network Connections etc. are gone. I have activated them in the Settings, but they are not shown on the Desktop. Well, installed cinnamon 64 from the compability mode...then when i start it the x-server doesn't work says that there is noc screen found. already installed the latest nvidia drivers...no luck so far...

There seems to be a bug in the cinnamon installer. After clicking install it gets stuck. MATE installation worked fine.
Been trying to get it installed for hours. Checked md5. Tried it from usb and dvd. Looked up the forum. Other people are having the same problem.
Please fix this! Thx in advanced!

the same here....tried everything.... usb and dvd... 32 and 64 ... downloaded from here and softpedia .... torrent and ftp server .... checked md5 which was ok... any idea?

i get the message:

no file in this folder

Any other suggestions.

Thx for the fast reply. Unfortunately it didn't change anything. In the grub update log there is no trace of an Win 7 installation.
