I just installed Daryna (using safe graphics mode), on my Toshiba Satellite A60 w/ATI Mobility 7000 Integrated Graphics with 64MB Shared Memory and I can not enable any desktop effects. I tried installing the ATI driver using Envy but it just fails. I was testing Gutsy on this machine and desktop ef...

I jumped on the torrent also but it's not pulling down anything. Should I just switch to the HTTP download instead?

I just replaced Cassandra XFCE edition with the Celena beta 017 and it feels much snappier on my older laptop :D I think I'll wait for stable though.

I have been running this on my older Toshiba laptop for a couple of days now and I do like the responsiveness compared to when I had the Gnome version installed. It's taken a little tweaking but I have Compiz Fusion installed and running correctly at last but I am having two issues still. 1. My iPod...

Thanks for taking a look, I have been searching Online and that output does seem correct. This is the first time I have set up Mint on this particular PC and it hasn't felt as stable as it does on my laptop or other desktop. I wonder if it would be worth trying the Fiesty 64 bit version since I have...

I have an ATI Radeon 9200 PCI in my system (AMD Athlon 64 3800+ w/1.5 GB Ram), and I ran Envy to install the correct driver but my system still seems to be slugish. I checked the xorg.conf file and it still lists the ATI driver but I also see an xorg.conf.fglrx-0 file and xorg.conf.original-0 file d...

PCMCIA Fire wire card

I have 2 port Fire wire card for my laptop that I would like to get working. Currently it does not seem to be recognized when I boot Mint and I haven't been able to find any tips here or in the Ubuntu forums that weren't talking about wireles cards

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Since I first started messing with Ubuntu I have learned it's best to burn Linux distros at 2x or 4x to avoid install issues.

On an unrelated note I submitted Bianca's release to digg :) hopefully it won't backfire with the site getting dugg to death :?

Thanks for the reply Clem. I did install Ubuntu server and had it running but I felt like I was in over my head. For now I think I'll run Mint on it and have all my finished torrents save to a shared folder that I can access from any of my PCs. At least until I have a better understanding about runn...

I love mint running on my laptop 8) and I would love to have a mint server. I've been messing around with an old PC I have trying to set up as a Home file server running Ubuntu Server and it's just not coming together the way the guides explain.
