Sidebar in Nemo too small

None of these options work for me permanently. The sidebar always too small. This happened after installing an update to nemo on mint 18. This Sucks. Why the F*** did the developers touch what was working. Don't they realize when an update is installed they should NOT change current settings. I try ...

Re: USB Monitors Not Supported by Linux Mint

Second follow up. I could Not get the 15 inch AOC monitor to work due to its resolution limitation of 1366 x 768. The 22 inch works fine but it's resolution supports 1920 x 1080. So, That's it. The 15 inch lights up and shows up in the display settings, but only displays horizontal bars. When you ap...

Re: USB Monitors Not Supported by Linux Mint

To update my previous comment. If you do not select "Mirror" device screens. it defaults to "EXTENDED" mode and only the primary has the full original desktop but you can drag and drop across screens, thereby extending your screen real estate. The extended mode simply displays your wallpaper at star...

Re: USB Monitors Not Supported by Linux Mint

http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu IT WORKS The above driver link works perfect on Linux Mint 18. Both Mate and Cinnamon, I just tried it. It also works on the larger AOC screen 22 inch which I also have and tried. Only thing I am still researching is how to make it work in extended mode. R...

Re: Nemo does not support Paste from Dolphin or Konqueror

You guys that replied are not reading what I said. Konqueror and Dolphin support a past if the cut is done in Nemo but NO...nemo cannot understand a simple thing like checking the clipboard area for paste data if the cut/copy is done in konqueror or Dolphin. nemo does NOT even support a simple Previ...

Nemo does not support Paste from Dolphin or Konqueror

If you select any file in either Dolphin or Konqueror and do Copy or Cut and go to a fiolder being displayed by Nemo, right click and Paste is grayed out. What's up with this? The reverse works, Dolphin and Konqueror properly paste what was copied or cut in a Nemo display. This has never worked as f...

Re: Cannot restore after hibernation Mint 18

This happened to me as well (all of a sudden) Never ever had to add any restore or swap info to Grub to have Hibernate recover properly. I'm running linux mint since rel. 12 never had to do anything to have hibernate to work. So unless someone can admit that an update broke hibernation from working ...

Re: suspend/hibernate broken after upgrade of Maya to all subsequent versions

Yes. And while I never use suspend but do use Hibernate, in my experience this is one of the more basic and simple features to implement. Lets face it functionally Hibernate takes all active Ram pages and writes it to the swap file. On resume it SIMPLY reads back the swap file into Ram and 'Branches...

Re: suspend/hibernate broken after upgrade of Maya to all subsequent versions

It does not matter if it is the Kernel or any other component that the developers do NOT maintain, has changed. They did SHIT regression testing. Maybe you never heard the term. Hibernate and Suspend features I guess are not part of their test cases. If they are going to take responsibly to make and...

Re: suspend/hibernate broken after upgrade of Maya to all subsequent versions

I have same problem. The Developers of Linux Mint 18 & 18.2 quality control of regression testing sucks. This worked perfect in mint 17.2. No Hardware changes and it does not work on mint 18 or 18.1. I have a high end laptop Dell i7 with 32GB RAM (and massive SWAP DISK) That means the Linux Mint dev...

Re: Nemo .jpg thumbnail generation speed

If you install and use Konqueror, or PCManFM file manager instead of Nemo they are both is 500 times faster than nemo in displaying tumbnails, especially when you have hundreds of photos/videos etc. In addition, Konqueror had a preview mode not available in nemo. Also nemo does not correctly handle ...

Linux Mint 18 BUG in Nemo

Where is the appropriate place to report a BUG? Anybody know?

This bug has existed since day 1 of Mint. The issue is, the nemo file manager does not accept Paste (grayed out) when the cut or copy has been done in Konqueror. Konqueror of course does accept it when cut/copy done in nemo.

AOC USB Monitor Not supported

For the past 2 years I cannot get a USB only Monitor (AOC in my case), to be recognized by Linux. Currently Linux Mint 17.3. If I connect it before Boot, the boot hangs half way. If I plug it in after startup, it is simply ignored? Any drivers anywhere? Any Windows NDIS drivers available? Please, on...

Re: Nemo can't rename files best be rewritten by 6th graders

As per your suggestion, I will write a replacement for Nemo (the Tortoise in the race with the Hare). I think I might call it "Hare-Nemo". As far as other parts of my complaint being off topic, after all, this is a Linux Mint forum and, one can see hundreds of people complain about Mint's various co...

Nemo can't rename files & Super slow copy/cut/paste

Not only is the rename slow but folder display of a large number of files, copy & move are also unacceptably SUPER slow real Crap design. Better programs written by 6th graders. The whole Linux Mint system based on Ubuntu 14.04+ (mint 17-17.2) seems to have terrible file features and is Super slow a...

Re: Nemo doesn't do the job: it hangs

17.2 Linux Mint stills has the nemo bug. I found that not only does it Hang often, it appears that Nemo is single thread and cannot handle doing more than 1, copy, move, or even folder view, at a time. If you try a move or copy, then try another file function it says waiting for prior function to co...
