Re: Mint Update - update level
Please could someone answer me a possibly simply question. What update level should I set Mint Update to on LMDE (gnome)? :? Thanks If you are running the new mint update, you should be on update pack 2. The old mint update you chose what levels you wanted. With the new Mint update, they do give yo...

[SOLVED] LMDE not keeping time correctly.
I am running a triple boot with XP, Mint Julia and now LMDE 32 bit version. I have set the clock as "System Time" but every reboot puts it back to GMT time. :? I'm having the same issue with LMDE 64 bit also. Anyone else have this issue as I have not seen it in the bug reports. Thanks, Shane

Re: Linux become more like Windows!
Reading this thread it appears to me that both the OP and some of those replying do not fully grasp what IN MY OPINION are the aims of LinuxMint. In my opinion, from his post, knuckles has become proficient enough with Linux to make LM redundant to his needs, he really should be using Suse, RedHat ...

Re: Need help editing GRUB in LMDE 32 bit SOLVED
Well if its just the Entry in grub then you will need to update grub sodo update-grub if you are using grub2 then its sudo update-grub-pc If the old kernel is still there then you will need to remove the old Kernel and that can be done thru the package manager. hope this helps :D Mark this thread S...

(SOLVED) Need help editing GRUB in LMDE 32 bit
I now have three operating systems, XP, MINT10 and now LMDE32 bit version. In LMDE when I installed the the Nvidia drivers it added the 686 kernel to grub. It left the 486 entry in Grub. How do I remove the old 486 kernel entry in Grub? Can I just remove the 486 Kernel portion in Grub.cfg and then u...

Re: Why Should I Go Mint?
Boy does this sound familiar! Two years ago I tried every distro out there. My HP ML310 G3 servers video card hated everything I tried. :x It's an ATI ES1000 and nothing would run it correctly. So much for Linux, so I stuck with XP on it instead. Didn't even try another distro till three weeks ago. ...

Re: What's with the Windows bashing?
As my first post I just had to respond to this. It is common knowledge that Win7 is nothing more than a service pack that corrected Vista. In Microsoft's typical screw the end user traits they did with Win7 what they have done since the days of Windows 95. Release an OS not ready for prime time, and...
